Hey guys, I'm due for a PSU upgrade (thinking of a GPU upgrade later this year), my PSU is almost 4 years old. It's an old OCZ ModXStream Pro (the one in my signature). My local computer store recommended the LEPA MaxBron 700W modular PSU. I haven't heard of LEPA before but they told me that's the PSU that they recommend everyone and what they use in their rigs. Here's the PSU output table: LEPA's website: http://www.lepausa.com/maxbron.php Thought I want to run it by you guys before buying it. It's going for $60 so I thought it's a good deal. Let me know what you guys think. Cheers, deltatux
Not for me, thanks. I'd rather spend a bit more and get a lower watt higher quality unit; for example, a 600w Seasonic.
From what I have read from YT Comments on a Video done by Newegg TV about this PSU and models above and below it. That Some Lepa PSUs are just OEMs of Enermax.
Is there a reason why or is it because the brand isn't well known? That's good, so would you recommend that I get this PSU or is there something better for the price range? Cheers, deltatux
I would look for something better in the price range and if you cant find anything then you can fall back and purchase this PSU.
Any suggestions? Haven't been looking at PSUs for a while. Preferably something in the 600 - 700W range, around $60 - 80 (max). Please let me know. Cheers, deltatux
EVGA also makes good PSUs from what have read and seen with other gurus. And here is one that might fit your budget just fine. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438014
Looks good. I'm looking to put in a GTX 760 or a Radeon R9 270. Do you think that's enough power for these two GPUs? or should I get at least 650W? Cheers, deltatux
Are you planning on SLIing or Crossfire Xing in the future? Or just run single cards? Just 1 card of either the r9 270 or 760 you should be fine but if you plan on Xfire or SLI you will need more power.
EVGA's are Superflower designs, some of the best PSU's you can buy on the market at the moment. A decent 550-650w unit would power either of those cards just fine, although I'd aim for a 280 or 280x over the 270. The 280 is the direct competitor to the 760. You'll want at least a 750w unit if you plan to go multi-gpu with those cards in the future.
Lepa is Enermax sister brand, kinda like Asrock is to Asus. Imo you cant go wrong with it, although I would go with at least silver 80plus model.
I don't intend to CrossFire or SLi, the set up is messy and I don't need more power draw if I don't have to. Plus, got no money for such fancy set ups lol. So LEPA is good? Not sure to jump on the LEPA or the EVGA that's been suggested. EDIT: Looks like the EVGA 600B's OEM is HEC/Compucase, are they any good? Thoughts? Cheers, deltatux
