On the web new photos appeared on several socket AM4 motherboards, this round it is ASUS and Gigabyte (Aorus). There are four models based on the B350 chipset and one with X370....

Only 1 piece is honest - has 5 jack and digital audio out.

Too many colors on that x370's USB's..... WTF are the yellow ports?

(It's Gigabyte so it's probably crap anyway.)

Yeah, that seems odd. Only one has optical out.

    3.1
wouldnt say crap, but i normally get better feats/components going with asus/asrock for the same money. but asus/msi are going more+cheap on power design/vrms (vs asrock), so i know what i will get...

    is it 3.1?

Looking at the picture i would have figured the red one, being paired with the Type C connection, was 3.1

The problem is, there's what? 5 colors? (i could be wrong i'm a bit color blind) and only 3 different speeds/versions of USB that would be used....

Though i am curious about one aspect of these motherboards....

Do they all have an integrated GPU? Or do the HDMI/DVI/etc ports only have any use in them if you buy an APU?

One thing I haven't seen yet is an x300 SFF motherboard, I'm guessing there's not going to be mini itx motherboards at launch?

I also find it strange that these all seem to be B350 boards (apart from the Aorus), and they all have what looks like low grade audio out...?

I'm hoping to go mATX again this time, maybe mini-ITX, x300, but as fl2015 mentions, I haven't seen any about at all yet.

An ASUS Gene version for AM4 would be nice.

Three of the boards are b350's which are the chipset to use with the upcoming APU's. And yes there are 4 different color USB's on that x370 board. Only thin I can think is a liar if them are 3.0 but supplied by a 3rd party controller.

Not to mention is the only one with a reasonable amount of chokes. I know Asus use higher quality parts and tend to have more true power delivery phases, but FFS, 6 around the CPU? I don't care if it's adequate for practical functionality, at the prices they charge even for their entry level boards that's nowhere near good enough.

Not to say I think it's a good design, and I wouldn't buy another Gigabyte product again since they pulled a bait and switch on their GPU memory. I can never trust a company that sinks that low. Who knows if what they sell is actually what they've advertised or implied (through samples sent to reviewers) anymore.

Nice to see a non-focus on the soundcards. Now if only we could get rid of those on higher/midtier boards.

Seeing as they are right beside the PS/2 port, likely dedicated mouse and keyboard ports.

Do I really see 2 AGP slots on the first motherboard (Prime B350-PLUS)?

The vast majority use onboard sound cards, even high end users.
