I bought the Pro version thinking there won't be any pup.opencandy malware and ads In It. To my surprise It copies malware to my system without my consent even after clicking the I do not agree button.

And after scanning the setup file through virus total, and checking the files behaviour. It showed two types of code Injections In
    mshta.exe
    cscript.exe

Now why would a torrent program Inject code Into those programs Is beyond me!!

And noticed that It copies pup.opencandy as soon as you run the setup.

I switched to qBitTorrent a while ago. It's what uTorrent used to be. Fast, light, and no bloat. It even sets up almost the exact same way and will use the same ipfilter.dat files to screen sources. I tried Tixati and didn't like it.

Also, malware and adware are not the same thing. Open Candy is not malware and is not a virus. It's undesirable yes, but let's keep the terms accurate.

Same, 2.0.4 - not a fan of running old software, but OpenCandy is going nowhere near my machine

Yeah Open Candy may not be malware in the strictest sense but they do have a familiar smell.I find it on a lot of machines that have more serious infections so it's suspect as far as I'm concerned.

Anything that installs without my permission or knowledge and takes special removal tools to get rid of, is in my eyes, a form of malware, it still exploits the OS by silently installing without the user knowing, and likely gets added to startup items, runs in the background doing something we don't want it to do

Scumware, at least companies like burnaware give an installer without it bundled, uTorrent downloads it the second you start the install, no check boxes or opt-out or anything

People should really stop using uTorrent. It's been corrupted for ages now and nothing but money making machine.

If you like uTorrent UI, consider using qTorrent. It's opensource and provides as much if not more functions.
