Ok I finally picked this puppy up, ive been messing around with it a little bit and came out very impressed gaming wise!I was able to run games like tom clancys Hawx at 1080p withvreally good settings, also tried Arma 2 runs very smooth at medium settings...About to test Stalker call of pripyat.

Heres some questions for you guys what do I do next? I want more Gpu muscle so what card schould I add? Heres what I picked....Amd Radeon 290, or x , or maybe the new Maxwell cards 970 or 980? Altough its way overkill a 980 for 1080p but oh well lol.Iam going to keep the system as is and start saving for a better gpu, I have a Corsair Hx 850 pushing the system I hope ill be ok on power? Stock heatsink and no overclock so far, How do I raise i-gpu core? I wasnt able to do it in bios for some reason, it tops out at 750mhz.

Intel can kiss my ass iam glad I got this little Apu, at least they cant touch us in the Graphics department lol, the little R7 is Nice! Maybe ill be better off with a used Radeon 7970 ghz edition? What do you think? I dont wanna have an unbalanced system.$150 used for a 7970?

Stalker call of pripyat is at 35 fps at 1080p just wow I cannot believe this little chip! Whoever is familar with this game I need some advice what Render type I schould use? When I go Dx 11 I drop to 15 fps at 1080p.

    Thank you.

Come tax time I will havev$500 for a Gpu of my choice, Iam already looking at a Gtx 980 that is a Monster of a card!!!

Oh man, why did you pick up the 7850K if you were planning on getting more GPU anyway. Now you have an APU that probably wasn't the cheapest either, and you're not even going to use the iGPU after? Without the iGPU it's just not a very strong CPU, so you might bottleneck a 290. Maybe a 280X or a 770 might be better territory for you. If you can still bring the 7850K back, go get a 3570K or a 4670K.

    Don't ask me.

Check his post history, he's been asking the same questions and more or less getting the same answers for weeks. For whatever reason he chose to ignore most of the advice given to him, I'm seriously starting to wonder if he's having a laugh at this point.

Yeah your right but id like to keep it I really like it! I could be wrong about my gpu choice so maybe if I pick up a used Radeon 7970 ghz edition at $150 it will be a better match for the Apu? Then ill have 350 left which id like to use for a better Motherboard this one cant oc for jack ****!

Yeah it might be pushing it to add a 980 lol.No need to get upset darkest-Just trying to see what my gpu options are at this point.I watched a guy on Youtube running 7850k and added a 780ti that thing was Blazing fast, ripping through games like no tommorow! Not saying iam getting a 780ti just saying in general id like to have that kind of performance.

Iam just happy no more gaming on xbox 360 lol, forgive me iam just excited about having a new system its been a while now!

Do you guys know much about the i-gpu on this Apu? How does it compare against a Radeon 7970 ghz edition? At the very least I hope now thatcI have better graphics performance then i did on my xbox 360 lol?

Also its ok to use stock heatsink if iam not overclocking? Some help on memory overclocking would be greatly appricated, iam at 1600mhz Easy tune 6 has an option to run 1866mhz,2133, or 2400mhz.....Whats the highest I can get this to run? Its Corsair Vengence 1600mhz.

    Thank you.

Hold on. I've always thought that an APU's GPU wouldn't be used if the computer has a video card. Is that right ?

They don't work together, right ?

U can crossfire mike but thats only on low to midrange gpus, not something iam looking to do.Iam going to get 1 high end gpu and just call it a day, which one iam not sure yet but like I said Maxwell looks really nice to me.

We will see what I can dig up.But so far the i-gpu has handled all the games I mentioned, this schould get me by until I have my new video card no problem.

Easy Tune is garbage and if the stock heatsink is of the same quality as every other AMD stock heatsink, you'll end up damaging the CPU trying to overclock with it. Those heatsinks are barely sufficient to keep the processor from throttling at stock clocks.

As for the iGPU, most mid-range graphics cards are faster....

The one I have stashed away from my old build is a ThermalTake Contac 30 its called, has 4 copper heatcpipes and dual 120mm fans, much more surface area then the stock heatsink.I wasnt overclocking the cpu at all I left it at stock clocks, turbos to 4ghz stays there majority of the time, I dont need a much higher oc now anyway.

I was looking at my Gpu options at Microcenter-Powercolor Radeon 7970 3gb-160 bucks.....Nvidia Gtx 660ti by Asus-$200 bucks.....I like the 660ti what do u think? Or schould I just hold off and get the Gtx 970 instead? I think they are expected to be in the 300s, I think I can pull that off? They also have a used Gtx 580 Evga for 120 dollars but i already had one of those so I dont know?

Even the Gtx 780 price has fallen to a little over 300 dollars! I might be able to pick one of those up for my Apu, I just wanna make sure I have enough Gpu muscle incase we decide to run 3 monitors-Thats my original plan anyway.I was making a Gaming room for my kids, wife and myself. We have a xbox 360 hooked up now the Apu build is in there as well, my daughter is getting the xbox one 4 christmas so we will have that up as well hopefully.

Its nothing to brag about just yet but the most important thing is its all ours, no rent no nothing we own all of our stuff!

The memory oc didnt work out for me btw, I raised it to 1866mhz and crashed 3 times on 3 diffrent games, I bumped voltage to 1.55 still nothing.Oh well lol.

Whats the expected Retail price on the Gtx 970s refrence design?

You are looking to upgrade to one single powerful gpu and you buy a goddamn APU?

    .....

There's something wrong with you man.

You literally spend extra bucks on the crappy I-gpu ontop of the APU and you get a mediocre CPU since you wont use the i-GPU anyway.

Then you even refuse to buying a decent AMD video card to crossfire it with so you completely waste the I-GPU.

I do hope you realize what the hell you just did.

5 different threads about CPU's alone..... Most would consider that unnecessary considering he ignored everything he was told in each of them.
