hello, i was trying to overclock my nvidia card on the latest version of rivatuner and now when i try to load it (normal and safe mode) it will show the bsod.
    using win 7 ult 64bit.
start-up repair fails and shows the send/dont send dialog.
i am currently working on my dual boot xp.
how can i fix this issue?

"RivaTuner ruined my registry" is a little misleading don't you think? OC'ing and causing other system crashes pull the legs out from under Windows. If something is corrupted in the process, that's part of the risk. RivaTuner did not do it, you did.

Anyways....if it were me, I'd backup the data by booting into XP and reinstall 7. I don't like trying to duct tape serious issues. But if that is a problem, maybe try repairing from the DVD.

the registry is my hunch as rivatuner will change it.
i don't have a backup, but everything was working fine up untill i set new clocks at rivatuner and restarted.
i really do not want to do a fresh install.
i have so much thing installed already.
any suggestion to fix what rivatuner did?

Always make backup , always read FAQ before oc'ing. Alwaaaaaays , if you don't you will get :biggun:

Did you try system restore ? go back to a earlier point ? with the installation cd of Windows7.

    Startup from cd/dvd(windows 7) , select language , select system restore , select a restore point .

    Maybe this helps.

    ctrl didn't work
i am getting the a fast bsod (less then 1 sc) right after i have a the black screen with the windows 7 logo loading and it restarts.
i do not have a restore point.
my w7 dvd has nothing different then the usual repair options and its startup repair also gets the send/don't send message and does not succeed.

Did you erase the restore points?
What happens if you put your dvd in and select the restore option?
What does it say after bleu screen , startup windows normal or restore system?

    Sorry but i'm just guessing.

i didn't erase them, someone once told me that they are disabled because i have this dual-boot setup.
after the bsod it resets and when then asks me to start the repair guide (which didn't work) or start windows normally.
is it possible to change or erase the files in charge of the overclock from xp?
(i am starting to thing this thread should go over to the experts forum)

this is rather funny. I wanna help but I kinda just wanna watch. Boot into safemode, open msconfig and remove the offending startup. Riva wont be doing anything to your registry

Dude, take out all ram on your computer and leave just one in and reboot. This happen to me before and pretty similar and taking out the ram and leaving one in help.

    tried it, didn't work.
the pic i uploaded in the other thread is from my dual boot xp where i can edit the registry of w7 by loading its registry hives.
hasn't anyone found a solution to this on this forum before?

It might just be coincidence that it became corrupt at that time

There is no solution if you can not get into windows long enough to system restore, its dead, format and reinstall windows
