Where can i find a Video card for a laptop It's a Toshiba Satellite L35, 512mb, Media Center ED, Celeron M, and im looking for a really good card.. CS:S mostly with little lag..
There are very few laptops that you can upgrade the video cards on. Even if you can, im not sure how much the technology caught on. If i can play doom 3 on a Celeron @ 1 Ghz, 512 RAM, and integrated graphics (82830M), you can play CSS with that. Hell, i could play HL2 with this laptop too.
I would love to see screenshots of both Doom 3 and Half Life 2 running on both significantly below minimum specs and unsupported hardware. It must be some slide show!
he runs source without lag on low detail..its wierd..my sister can play Q4 on her laptop..it sucks cause he makes my computer slow down.
Oh god its terrible! Doom 3 looks terrible, the textures are extremly low res! I had to tweak it so that it wouldnt draw the gun i was holding, i had to turn off sounds to lower ram usage... dont make me do it again! HL2 worked surprisingly well. I just set the settings to lowest and chugged along
Yea, only upgradeable laptops are Alienwares and such. You'd be lucky to get the Toshiba open if it is anything like my last laptop (which was a Toshiba, 20 screws later it still didn't open). My integrated card hates Guild Wars so I play old stuff on it like Civ 3 and Simcity 3000.
The technology was called MXM and is made by MSI i believe Here are some articles on the techie Link 1 Link 2 Link 3
i played hl2 demo on a athlon 900mhz and it played fine with like a radeon 7500. it was on the lowest settings but still ran.
I've said it before, the source engine is absolutly amazing when it comes to compatibility with lower end systems! Very well optimized, and still looks pretty good.
yeah it looks pretty good..hes happy he can play it tho so whatever works for him.. ATM we cant play cause netgear sucks ass our router isnt working.
netgear doesnt suck, youve not setup it up right, 90& of all internet problems are human problems e.g. this .
QFT..........Netgear and Linksys are the only routers i recomend for friends to buy because they are really good and easy to operate with them
