Need a utility to open files.Free hopefully?

Pardon my stupid question but I am trying to mod a game and I need some kind of file extractor,z-zip? Is there any safe free ones? Thank you in advance.Nz

Yes its safe and free.

 

I've been using 7-zip and Peazip for years now. They're both free and open source, i.e. really safe in terms of security.

Actually, there's a lot of quality FLOSS (Free Libre Open Source Software) out there. That stuff has nothing to do with stupid shareware that comes with spyware and somesuch that so many of us are or have been so used to using on our machines.

WinRAR is also good. Though it only has an unlimited 30day trial LOL

 

It does not stop working though, you "sometimes" get a box pop up about buying the program but it all works regardless
