I've had a TR-X R9 290 OC UEFI for a few month and was running great untill the DisplayPort started losing signal so I sent it back and they send me a new Vapor-X R9 290 which was a nice surprise.

I have an old Rampage III Extreme X58 that is not UEFI of course but the Tri-X didn't have any problems.

The problem I noticed immediately when I installed the new Vapor-X and powered up my PC.
In the first POST there are screen tearing and delay when HDDs are detected and same when I enter the motherboard BIOS when scrolling up/down and navigating different tabs.
All is working fine when Windows starts in desktop 2D, videos and gaming and I actually OCed the card to 1150/1500 with +50mv and auto fan for a long game session and did a 3DMark bench at 1198/1650 with +100mv
My Tri-X could not be stable at all in gaming at 1100Mhz core although it had an ASIC quality of 78% vs 69.7% for my new Vapor-X

The problem with POST/BIOS is not very bad actually but it is just strange and I am worried something might be bad with the card.

Here are 2 videos that show the problem:

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Added youtube links.

In the first POST there are screen tearing and delay when HDDs are detected and a delay when I enter the motherboard BIOS as I see the word "wait" for a second which never happened before plus tearing when scrolling up/down and flashing when navigating different tabs.

Don't really see anything to worry about, have you tried updating your boards BIOS ?

It is on the latest BIOS as it is a 4 years old motherboard anyway.

If only I can compare voltages and frequencies for 2D between the new card and the Tri-X one.

Why not just use it, enjoy it, and if it breaks, RMA it instead of obsessing over something that is likely not a problem

I decided to do just that. It is a real problem to be a perfectionist :D

It's OCD, a lot of us have it :)

Nope, it is the 4GB version.

    True.
I've had a PC since 1998 and have always been very sensitive to hardware components specially graphics cards.
