It takes ages to search for updates

    Checking for updates ....

almost more than 2 min, I dunno since when it start, but it happens both on my Desktop and Asus Gaming G751JT Laptop and friend Asus G752VS OC Laptop.

They did just release Win10 RS2 build 15063 and in addition to that the .11, .13 and now .14 updates for that so the servers are a bit slow. :)

Cleaning out older updates can help as well either via the clean up manager in the OS or via a administrative command prompt.

    DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

That will compress the older installed cumulative updates.

    DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase

This will remove them, but it'll also make the current update permanent until a new one is released which supersedes it so it's not recommended.

I believe the main thing now though is this new build of Win10 and everyone downloading that (Or ISO's or other files for it.) from the Microsoft servers and in addition to that there's also these recent updates for RS1 so probably just traffic.
