Is there ANY WAY to use a Plasma as a PC monitor?

Basically I can get a rly nice 60inch Plasma for pretty much the same price as a 47inch LED.

Yes, and image retention is not an issue.

Most plasmas have a burn in cycle mode ( Panasonic have a white scrolling bar ) to off set this from happening. Just run it overnight when you get the panel and then You're good to go.

Yeah, plug it in.

If its an old version plasma that uses a lot of power (say over 400W average), you will need to watch lots of video when not using a PC on it (ie TV, video).
This is to even out the wear patterns, PCs tend to leave static images on the screen for a long time which can burn in if done for long enough.

If its a recent plasma (within last 3 or so years) from a reputable mfr, it should be fine with just a little TV/video use.

I dont recommend the use of anti burn in tools overnight, you will wear the plasma out quickly.

Yeah thats a pretty low power plasma (rated 183 Watts on mode), you are good to go.

Just run a break in period of some 100 hrs in the beginning to avoid IR.For more info about this visit this page http://www.avsforum.com/f/ ,there is a lot of info about this.
Most manufacturers do a break in period in factory,but just in case it is good to do it yourself.

I have a Panasonic P50ST30 in my living room with a HTPC connected to it. What you need to remember is image retention and burn-in are different. If I put a plain grey background on the desktop and leave a window open for a few minutes then move the window I can clearly see the after-image retained for a little while (probably 10 seconds). This is common and only noticeable in particular situations. Burn in is the permanent image retention of images which are static on screen, start menu etc. The latter shouldn't really be an issue on new Plasma's.
