I need a router, maybe wireless, for my pc and smart 4k tv. I have one modem (cable company) and only one ethernet wire out to pc and have to switch it to tv if I want internet tv. Question is there are so many routers out there and so many types I am a bit overwhelmed so need some advice. I want something simple buy yet something that will handle 4k. I am not sure if I need double, tripple or other speeds or some of the other exotic features now showing up in routers. So, hard wired or wireless, what speed or speeds, not to complex and easy to set up for someone clueless about these things and not to expensive. A buddy gave me an old Netgear wireless router but it only goes to 100 mbps so not sure that is fast enough for 4k.
For 4k you need a descent Router. I buyed a R7000 last year and flashed XVortex into this little Spaceship. Easy Gui, great coverage and awesome speed ! You won't regret it.
lol! if you want to realize it by wifi -> tv then you will need something like that http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/AD7200.html#overview thats not gonna be cheap. i'd rather invest into a 10GBps router and connect the tv via copper.
