both works great for gaming, the hd681 is more aggressive and punchy sounding. it''s basically a cheap akg240 clone.

the htf600 is more dark sounding, i prefer the htf600 more, it's pretty perfect imo in terms of tonality, quite life-like (i often think sounds come from outside lol - that doesn't happen as often with my other headphones).

both are pretty comfortable, though they both come with pleather pads, but can be replaced with velour for better comfort and sound quality.
Unfortunately those two are very hard to come by in Canada, only the Panasonic ships from a Canadian retailer. Even so, it's a third party seller on Amazon, not sure how credible they are.

I have a pair of THESE(They since renamed them)Light, comfy and great sound. Sadly I tripped over them and broke a wire and never got around to fixing them(I use 5.1 anyway)
I'm not having much luck finding them anyway as they LOOK to be $60(tho that picture looks like another headset altogether...)

I did find THESE ones tho at $34.99 might not be enough over the ear for you tho.

The Senn 201's do look nice tho(I just see the sweaty ears)
Does the microphone on the PC 151 swivel? It looks like it's fixed in place.

Yep it swivels and locks right up in profile with the body.

I would save a little more money, you get what you pay for. I picked up my HD595's for $114 shipped off amazon. These are the same headphones ROBSCIX uses for reviews. Shows what you can get with a little searching.

So after reading reviews and doing a lot of research, I ordered the Razer Carcharias because I was able to raise a bit more money. I've read that there can be issues with the mic and some headsets have issues with it going mono after a few months. However, reading on other headset reviews these things seem common, it's like DVD drives or other electronic component, they do fail, there will be lemons and people use them in different environments and handle them differently.

I ordered these on the premise that the retailer I ordered from can price match, if not, I'll go with the Razer Electra instead.

Thanks for all your inputs guys.

Err, well if you were going to spend that much, I would have recommend my other headphones: Shure SRH440, which I bought for $65 (Amazon.com, I got lucky finding it for that price) and they sound awesome. Not sure if you still needed headset or headphone, but just tossing that out there. They usually go for around $70-99. I use them at work on the boat, and it's very good at blocking out engine and water noise. It also doesn't leak even at max volume, but that's too loud anyway for me.

By the way I went to Bust Buy today and they had a Turtle Beach display where I could test out the X1. Good thing you didn't buy them because they sucked. But that's expected for the low price = no bass, and cheap plastic construction.

Headsets in this price range just do the job, but don't excel at it.

I wasn't going to get the X1 anyways, I read many reviews that didn't give it a favourable review. The Z11 had better reviews. Oh well, let's hope the Razer Carcharias can hold up for at least 2 or 3 years.

I was waiting for my Carcharias to ship in (read previous posts, I did order it). I just got them in earlier in the week. It's a pretty comfortable headset with a very popping feeling, much better in clarity than the Philips. However, the bass kind of suck on my Auzentech sound card. I think I have to play with the equalizer a bit.
