To this software's author, that's specifically for GCN users with the "not-yet released" Windows 10 (currently build 10240). First of all I know that AMD removed AVT from Catalyst 15.7 and I think that was a bad move from them. Currently I can't select VCE.dll plugin for video recording, despite AVT package being installed. (You can install AVT from the Catalyst Omega 14.12 package). VCE does work for Windows 10, as I just tested a "VCE-branch" from OBS software. I tested monitor capture and it was able to co-exist with RTSS' OSD with no issues at all. I don't remember if using VCE was at all possible with Windows 8.1. Last time I recorded stuff using MSI AB was with Windows 7, and VCE works well in my opinion (once you understand its limitations). VCE.dll is part of the RTSS package and I believe you may need to update it to support M$'s new operating system. Once you get Windows 10, please check the possibility of having VCE functional in the next version of RTSS, if at all possible. Even though the feature looks deprecated, it's all AMD have for hardware-accelerated video encoding. Thank you.
See the ideas for future functionality thread. Unwinder is already aware that OpenEncode/OVE support has finally been dropped in catalyst 15.7. He will be porting the encoder functionality to AMF when he gets back from vacation. By the way OVE/OpenEncode had been deprecated for over a year by AMD, the functionality was finally removed in 15.7, it has nothing to do with windows 10. http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=5128246&postcount=551
@the9quad I wasn't really aware of the AMF replacing OVE until two days ago I believe. And you're correct that it has nothing to do with Windows 10. It was more of a coincidence and overlook from my part. Thank you for pointing Unwinder's answer on that matter.
