Anyone actually have one? Thoughts? Really thinking bout grabbing one. Most of the reviews except Toms Hardware show it better than 290x in CF and it also beats the 295x2. I know it can get hotter however most reviews show it no more than 80 C and I have an extra full tower.

I would rather look for 290X Lightning or Vapor-X. Not really fan of a Powercolor.

Nor have I been historically however I'm replacing my 970's and want a dual graphics solution for 1440p gaming. The part I like is that is doesn't down clock like the 295x2 does.

I would not touch a Powercolor card.

That card looks like a birthday cake, sorry. Plus, Powercolor is a no go in my books, I'd rather have 2 Vapor-X or Tri-X or MSI Gaming than that Powercolor.

Seriously though, for 1440p gaming, most of the time even a single 970 is enough (or a single 290). I would not be sinking $700 on a fairly old gen card atm.

I'm getting an in store credit that's good for 1 month from my retailer for returning my 970's. No, one 970 is not close to enough for 1440p gaming at any kind of decent frame rate with DAO, FC4, or AC:U http://www.guru3d.com/articles_page..._graphics_performance_benchmark_review,8.html With good quality settings a single 970 is lucky to pull off 35fps. I was thinking of going with 2 Sapphire cards but according to reviews they don't perform as well as a 295x2, they cost more, and they definitely perform worse than the Devil 13. I've never owned a Powercolor so I will take the advice given here into serious consideration, however, other than a 295x2 there's really nothing that will perform up to par with my monitor from AMD and my credit will likely run out well before the 3xx series comes out.

Get two separate cards, or like eclap mentioned, get one as a hold you over.

Thanks, I thought about just doing 1 but I'd be throwing $350 of credit away.

you don't have to use up all your credit in one go, do you?

    not always.

Thing is, I would NOT drop that kind of money on a noisy and hot card at this time. Just my 2 cents.

Grabbing a single card like a 970 or a 290 for now would make a lot more sense.

I have 2x 7970s in my rig. One is an XFX and the other is a Powercolor. Both are reference designs.

The Powercolor runs hotter than the XFX, but is was used when I got it and somebody had definitely had some sort of aftermarket cooling on it before I got it.

It hasn't given me any trouble and both cards seem to overclock about the same, so it doesn't bother me.

Since you have the credit and have to use it, you might as well get whatever you want.

I would love to have one of those cards.

I don't but there's nothing else I need. So I've got $720 in credit good for one month. I will not be buying a 970 nor 980. Basically I refuse to give e Nvidia any of my money.

PowerColour are **** in terms of cooling, all the way back to the 6xxx HD series. My PowerColour 6850 literally ran at 80 degrees when I sold the IceQ one to someone.

Well. You sound dead set on this card, no matter what I say. Go for it. But trust me, it's a mistake. I'm out.

My reference design 980's would hit 80 too. One from PNY and the other EVGA. Both cards ran between 75-80 in a well ventilated case in winter, ambient temp was 20. My 7950 ran cooler than either of those cards.

I ain't dead set man. I will consider all advice and reviews given before making a buying decision. I'm just stuck in this situation. I may as well use the credit. I was just getting opinions and possibly seeing if anyone had actual first hand experience with this card since, other than noise, this card has nearly perfect reviews.
