I'm pretty inexperienced on building computers but I have a basic understanding on how to do it.

    I made this build:
case: Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Mobo: ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131767
    GPU: HIS IceQ X H687QN1G2M Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit

PSU: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182200
    CPU: AMD FX-6200 Zambezi 3.8GHz (4.1GHz Turbo)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819106010
    RAM: G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231460
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue RFHWD3200AAJS 320GB 7200 RPM SATA

CPU Fan: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR

Can you guys check it out and see if I'm doing something wrong?
    I'm on a 700 dollar budget.
    Thanks!

For a start, that link is secure (as stated in the url) aka: we can't see it. I don't know if newegg lets you link the entire shopping list, but if not you'll need to list the parts and prices individually or mayhap take a screenshot to link us.

Now that's done, and I should have mentioned prior. What is the rig for? I can't think of anything that an FX6200 could be used for that a comprable Intel chip price wise isn't better for. No, that is not bias.

Gaming pretty much. Well I chose it because I read that its pretty easy to oc.

Easy to OC maybe, but that doesn't make for good performance vs cost in reality. I'm not super clued up on US prices, so you'll have to give me some time to check some things out. But I'm confident for the money you're spending you can build a better machine.

May I ask how much your willing to spend, maximum?

I'm only willing to spend 700, and the current build that i have comes extremely close to my budget.
also i think i may have gone overboard with the psu but im not sure how much wattage is needed.

I can see outright that you can save in areas you may not be looking at. For example, a stock 2500k using the standard HSF will be much faster, and around the same price as the AMD CPU + HSF you listed. You could likely OC the chip with the stock heatsink (And that case) to around 4-4.2ghz, I'd state 4 as min'

Don't let people tell you that you "need" a non-stock heatsink to do any OC'ing. That's terribly misinformed. You only need a non-stock heatsink if your temps reach a certain level at the speeds you're running at. Often, with a case using half decent cooling (which the case you've selected has) you can get away with a mild OC using stock cooling.

ummm the thing is that the cpu you said cost 50 dollars more than the one that I listed, and i only have another 20 dollar leeway. But the should i buy a another psu?

You also listed a HSF in your earlier build worth 35 usd. You'd not need it in the an intel build with a mild OC, and even stock would see you with better results than most current FX chips.

I may once I look things up, I'm in the UK at current, so prices are very different. Someone else may post to help, but in the meantime I'll be comparing prices while I have time to give you the best price to performance ratio I can. Please be patient, however.

Thanks so much! The price of the build is now a little over 700, but I guess it will be worth it.

That's not true, both AMD and Intel stock coolers are crap. I def recommend an aftermarket cooler for any overclocking.

Your build looks OK...nice motherboard, however I recommend buying a used X6 1090/1100 off eBay if you can. It will outperform the 6200 and will prob be cheaper.

Any reason u wanna go with the GTX 560? Better off with the 560Ti imho...

Or use some decent TIM and a stock heatsink will do you good with the right chip.

Can you guys help me out with the psu? I think the 600w one i picked is too much but I'm not sure how much would be too little.

My 2600k did better than that at 4.2 with Arctic Cooling MX-4.

    OK I'll have a look...

Btw the WD HDD is not a good buy, it's refurbished and only 320GB...for another $35 you could get this brand new 500GB Seagate.
