Well said, people who think it is selfish when the person is depressed have obviously never experienced depression, it completely sucks every last piece of happiness out of you, leaving you with nothing but dark dark thoughts and absolutely no light at the end of the tunnel, which you don't even realise you are inside of, it feels like that is the real world I haven't been so bad Ive attempted suicide, but I have been on that path, and its not somewhere I want to go again I can completely see why suicide is selfish when its for different reasons such as being caught for a crime, or becoming bankrupt / losing everything etc, but for depression, its completely different, you literally are pushed into that frame of mind where dying feels like the only way out of the hell you are in, and as for leaving family behind, because of your mental state, you believe you are doing them a favour, saving them from having to be around you
