Actually you're wrong. The fur and hair tech uses DirectCompute, and not PhysX.. Hair and fur simulation require very little simulation, so this is one of the things that DirectCompute actually does faster than PhysX, as DirectCompute is part of the DX11 spec..

To be fair Witcher 2 already looks stunning as it is. Any upgrade would be astounding.

Lots of compression, hard to tell. Some textures look so-so, ie ground/cave of Johnnys cutscene.

Well, you'll always have compression in these videos, hard to judge the texture quality. The game seems to be lit really nicely though and overall it's a big step forward, right?

This is just my speculation, but I think PhysX (which uses CUDA) will be used for more advanced simulations like cloth, smoke, fog, fluid, turbulence and likely some others.. Low level stuff will also use software PhysX.

Just like previous PhysX games, there will very likely be a detail slider. Default setting will use the CPU for cloth and destruction effects. Since the Witcher 3 will use PhysX 3.x, PhysX will run much faster on CPUs than it did with previous SDKs..

I reckon that the high PhysX setting will be exclusive to GPU acceleration and will increase the amount of particles and complexity of the PhysX effects..

Yeah, i hope they fixed the graphics from tw2. IE, you get no AF if you dont have this sharpening affect(which is way too much of it). I still see that same sharpening in some of the videos, hope i can disable it.

witcher3 then crysis4 (after they gather some pennies from the Roman QTE game), no way is Cevat gonna let this be the new benchy game by such a large margin over crysis3) crysis4 with tressfx 2.0 imo (and mantle)

witcher 3 graphics are certainly much better than witcher 2, but i can only see they upped the effects and fog a notch that's all, nothing groundbreaking....the overall character animations and lighting aren't a step too far...

Levels design are good,so no worry will be a great game.
This demo its from Xbone,i guess 900p,so of course its not so impressive as graphic detail.
On PC maybe with 290x or Titan you will have all ultra settings ON.So be happy to have a real next-gen game.:)

The demo is not from the Xbone, it's from the PC running at 1080/60.

Maybe it's nowhere near maxed though, but at the moment it looks more "last gen" and nowhere near a real "next-gen" game.

The build they used for the demo was an older build, so the graphics and optimization work hasn't been finalized or fully polished yet..

In fact, a dev said the graphics in the demo has already been "outdated." I don't think we'll see what max settings really look like until we are close to the release date..

    Ok my bad.

Did you see this?Waaatch this!and tell me more about quality. :)
Forget about *shyytty* youtube video compression.

    Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x1080 60fps 19952kbps [V: The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt - 35min gameplay demo_track1.h264 (h264 main L4.2, yuv420p, 1920x1080, 19952 kb/s)]
    Audio: AAC 44100Hz stereo 253kbps [A: The Witcher 3 - E3 2014 long demo_with developer commentary.aac (aac, 44100 Hz, stereo, 253 kb/s)]

But of course the game isnt finished yet, more to come next year.

Yeah, I was already basing my opinion on the less compressed versions.

I don't think it looks bad, just a little dated when it comes to effects and even moreso with the character models, and the better quality versions just make the game look worse as it shows up alot of aliasing and low res textures.

As you said though, these things might be fixed by next year, but even if it doesn't i will still get it as The Witcher games are the only "medieval" themed RPGs I like, so will be looking forward to this no matter the visuals.
