660 vs 660Ti

Hey there,

I have around 280 € ~ 360$ to spend on a new gpu, and I was thinking nVidia this time around, because I decided random BSODs aren't as pleasent as one might think.
I am torn whether or not a 660Ti is really worth the extra money compared to a regular 660, what are the main differences? Is it only faster clock speeds that I can reach by OCing a 660 anyways or are there actual, significant hardware differences?

Irrelevant, going to upgrade to i5-3570K very soon too. 7870 is gone because of BSODs. Allright thanks, so there are actual hardware differences, interesting.

660 ti has much more cuda cores but is clocked lower

I'd say 660 Ti is worth it, 660 would be a downgrade from 7870. Where are you buying from?

660ti has the same shader count as a 670 1344. a 660 has 960 shaders

Not anywhere near 360$ in germany. Cheapest is 440$

/\ True. You can find some Palit, PNY, ZOTAC basic stock ones tho for $410-420 but that's the lowest I have seen.
