blue screen of death?

I got the bsod when trying to update from cata 12.6 to cata 12.8 on my amd 6770m, was this because I didn't have microsoft.net framework installed? I'm scared to try it again lol...

 

probobly not, thats mostly just for CCC, not the drivers.

are your graphics switchable? by chance?

 

Had the very same problem (mobility 5560). Installed manually form the device manager... works fine.

 

Yes I have switchable graphics, but 12.6 works fine on mine and it says it don't support switchable.

 

well it's not supposed to so it's lucky that 12.6 works

How do you install it manually? Please tell me

 

Device manager -> Display Adapters -> double click on the card -> update driver -> browse my computer for driver software -> let me pick from a list (yadda yadda) -> and search for the inf of the driver (when you install the driver, it extracts the package somewhere on your hdd, the default directory being C:\AMD... search for the inf subfolder, i had 3 files found, i selected one...cant remember which, it detected the driver and bypassed the infamous "BEST DRIVER ALREADY AVAILABLE" crap...
