So, my 780Ti is reaching 84C in Rio de Janeiro, with a closed case. Instead of spending money with fans and such, I could just make the GPU Fan run faster.

I don't want to have to open MSI Afterburn everytime I have to play something, it's a pain. Is there a way to change the built in Fan control to make it more reactive, and never let it go above, let's say, 80/82C?

I think Nvidia shouldn't allow the card to reach 84C in the first place, no matter how hard the fan needs to be for that. I consider this a flawn. They really don't think some people live in places like here. 40C is a typical day, and there's nothing I can do about it

    Thanks!

you need to make a custom fan profile with afterburner.

There is an annoying/complicated way of doing that on a bios level, but you are much better off using afterburner/precision. Why don't you like running it?

Well, I have to make it open with Windows then. No big deal, I just don't like too many software opening with Boot.

I will then create a custom fan curve... I'll try something based on the default Nvidia, but the higher it gets, the more aggressive it is.

Does anyone know the temp at which the card throttles back the clock? I want to keep it below that. I was thinking 78C would be a good value, if I don't have to make the fan work too much. What do you guys think?

    Take care!

I believe it's 80C it starts downclocking, perhaps a tiny bit more.
i'd try for maxing temp out around 70 - 75C

Modern GPUs can take such temperatures, why would auto fan control raise the fan speed and make more noise?

As the others said, MSI Afterburner.

70C is just impossible where I live. I would need the fan speed to go above 80% for sure! Way too much noise.

I think I'll settle for 78C, I think I can keep it under 70% fan speed, which is the threshold to start getting annoyed because of the fan noise.

Anyway, thank you for the tips. Now my Afterburn starts with Windows.

    AC4 gets to 81C at 85% Fan.

I wish I had a custom cooler of this 780Ti. The reference model is not made for hot places.

You could try limiting your FPS or use vsync for those types of games. There is also an option in Inspector to set FPS to keep temps at a chosen level. I've never tried it, but the options are there for it in the frame limiter drop down.

Do it in afterburner. I flashed the bios for my cards so the fans run 100%

    Maybe invest in some watercooling?

The expense of WaterCooling, plus loosing the warranty it not worthy for me. It would be better to sell this one and get a custom solution, like Asus, with better Air cooling

100% fan speed would help you but you need to edit your gpu bios to 100% else your are limited to 85% iirc

I would hope the Titan cooler would be able to move more air at 100% than the old reference coolers....

The titan coolrr isn't exactly a great cooler. Its good better than amd reference. But I wanted to shoot hot air out the back of the case. 2 780ti with acx cooling would heat up everything else in the case even more so. 100% isnt very loud. 2 680ftw would sound like hair dryers at 100%

No need, buy an Arctic Accelero Xtreme 4.

    Problem solved.
