HDD / SSD connected as USB

    Hello Everyone

    This is my first post on Guru3D. I've using seeing the stuff on this website from many years though. I am facing a strange problem. My hard drives (1 ssd + 1 hdd) boht are connected and showing as a USB drive in Windows 7 (64bit)

    I think you misunderstood. OS thinks that they (and motherboard) support hot swap and so they are treated as removable.
    If in Device manager you change view to "Devices by connection" you will see whether your disks are connected to USB os SATA controllers.

    You should expand device tree until you see your disks.

    Okay I was able to see disk drives in Device Manager Tree.
    Now all I want is to remove/fixed drives showing under "Safe-Remove-Usb-Device icons".
    (pictures in 1st post)

    alright.. so installing the AHCI/RAID drivers for my board resolved the issue.

    Problem solved.
