Yep only Sony's will have Blu-Ray but you can get HD-DVD in many brands: At least HP, Toshiba and Acer all offer them.

I think you misunderstood my previous post.

I added some extras to that "Alienware" laptop model, like :
    more memory
    better CPU
    faster hard disk
    warranty and service
    case
    etc.

I believe that appx. $4,000.00 is a price people pay for a good and well-configured-equipped laptop.

Well, I actually have a m5790. It cost approx. 2,800 dollars. I can run full settings on practically any new game and still get decent framerate. Personally, this laptop is amazing. Sure you will have people who are negative about Alienware and their horrible support system etc. etc. But the truth is, I have not had a single problem with this laptop. (Except for the Vista issues)

Just so you know, my laptop has everything maxed that matters for graphics EXCEPT for the HD and the Processor. I went with the 2.16 which was a great buy, and the 7200 RPM 80 gig HD. I have 2 gigs of RAM and the x1900 ati card.

So if I were you, and were serious about gaming, I would go with the Alienware m5790.

Have fun, but do a lot of research before you buy your laptop.

*Edit note - Why do you want B-Ray? I have heard a lot of neg about it. I went with the stock cd/dvd/ drive cause there is still a battle between B-Ray and HDDVD.
