I suspected October but this is good news if it turns out to be true and Hawaii competes with Titan and Titan LE.

is this there next generation of cards or simply a refresh? are they going with a die shrink or just a new architecture?

From what I have read, It will be competing with Maxwell.

    It's next-gen with a die shrink to 20 nm.

I read that too, however I doubt it'll compete with Maxwell, it'll be up against Nvidia 700 series I would have thought. Could you imagine what AMD could charge for these cards if they smashed Nvidia's current line up! Forget buying a 9970, it'll cost more than a Titan!

So hows radeon pro looking these days? If I do switch back to AMD, I would hope there's some sort of tool to tweak my games.

    Yery good actually:
Apart form the usual tweaks ATI/AMD drivers had for years, you can now force FXAA and SMAA, there is also support for Adaptive Vsync...
Support for 64-bit Applications is implemented, however it doesn't detect all applications yet.

Without saying SweetFX can be integrate directly on radeonPro, and the funny thing, it work on games where Sweetfx dont work for Nvidia gpu's due to this.

Good, Q3-Q4 2014 will be crazy

Btw I spotted possible perf. of 9970 and looks like a 2560core.
    Imo a GK110 response., that real VI in 20nm ~ Q4 2014 should be more interesting :p

I really hope that score was at stock clocks, otherwise it's pitiful.

I know right? I thought a die shrink and a new architecture was going to smoke Nvidia's GTX Titan but what I see seems like only a 3% difference unless of course this is just an early prototype and the drivers are not finalized even still at most the complete version a mere 10%! lol I'm sorry but Maxwell is going to KILL!!! I'll be getting that along with sandy bride E or "probably" Haswell E at the end of next year.

I just hope I'm wrong? maybe finding out the true Floating point performance will tell us how much raw power this baby has and if it's just a software thing? Because I want my next gen card to be a single chip card but with the performance of a dual Tahiti! "7990" at minimum!

rumors... score alone in 3dmark says nothing. AMD will not release a card weaker than titan, no point. if it be 30% faster than titan then i say wow, but i think it won't happen. AMD at best could make the card better than titan 10%, we have to see what maxwell bring to us

I'll probably end up buying "One" of these, But when exactly is maxwell coming out? I saw a slide a while back and it said 2014.....hell it could be Q4 2014 for all we know.

Not anytime soon, that's for sure.

This time AMD takes the lead.

Agreed. Not impressed with that score. Hope its a stock run not overclocked.

Seriously, a 45% jump in performance between generation isn't impressive anymore?

It is, but this not this time. nvidia managed to make Titan/GTX780 faster than 680 7970ge by 35-50% in the same generation, sure titan price is ridicouls, 780 is high but more acceptable, take the price out and i call this achievement very impressive, same generation(kepler), 35-50% more performance.
