    Well after getting my setup finnaly running the way I want it I decided to show you folks what some Crossfire action can do with ATI's newest monster.

    [IMG]
    [IMG]

    So without further delay, let's begin :)

    These new cards really scream as does this CPU! Now lets see what happens when we raise the CPU clocks shall we? back in a few.....

    OK, CPU is at 3Ghz and cards are stock...

    05 = 18328
    [IMG]

    06 = 11097
    [IMG]

    more coming.....

    CPU now @ 3.2Ghz cards stock....

    05 = 19132
    [IMG]

    06 = 11257
    [IMG]

    going again....

    CPU @3.3Ghz cards still stock....

    05 = 19548
    [IMG]

    06 = 11336
    [IMG]

    stay tuned......

    OK, here's 3.3Ghz and the crappy "overdrive" OC that CCC allows you 695/2190....

    05 = 19981
    [IMG]

    06 = 11984
    [IMG]

    past 20k with the same clocks as above, only tweaking the driver settings....
    [IMG]

    OK, here's what you folks have been waiting for.....

    CPU @ 3.6Ghz

    05 = 23185 @ 793/2286
    [IMG]
    06 = 13029 @ 780/2280
    [IMG]

    More OCing coming soon with a X6800 :nerd: Now with an unlocked multi, I'll no longer be bound my my mobo!

    I will, soon, just showing how these cards scale with CPU increases even at their stock clocks. :)

    @ biosfear, I will as soon as it's available :)

    OK I'm having problems going past 3.3Ghz on the CPU. And when I try to clock the cards at all, I get freezes and reboots. I think I have reached the limit of what my PSU can give my setup with these cards :(

    Damnnit, There's at least 6k more in these cards in 05 and probably 4k more in 06. But I can't get my CPU back to 3.6Ghz with these cards and can't clock them at all with my PSU :(

    What are you using to clock the cards? My overclocking experiences with this card so far haven't been very good - and that isn't because of the cards themselves, but because of ****ty software. Neither ATi Tool or Tray Tools seem to work like they should on this card. I just get lots and lots of annoying weird issues.

    I'm using ATI Tool beta 025 16 ver3. The card will accept a 775Mhz core OC and 2200Mhz memory OC but after about 2 mins of benching my system just freezes. No artifacts no nothing and temps are 50C load with my water cooling. SO I'm scratchin my head over here. Maybe it's the software, because with CCC and their "overdrive" garbage I can OC the cards to 695/2170 no problem, but these cards are capable of so much more.......:bang:

    OK just did the overdrive OC, and it worked, so It's a software issue that won't let me OC the cards. Guess I'll have to wait till there's better OC support and maybe official 6.10 cats available to go faster :frown:

    Yup, I've experienced freezing as well. I've actually experienced freezing after moving the slider 2MHz up... So meh. Hopefully there will be better software support later on.

    John, are you also setting your voltage? Dissable ati2vexx or whatever (forgot the exact name but that's close) by pressing CRTL+ALT+DEL. Then open ATI Tool and set your GPU voltage to 1.475 and leave the rest where they are. You should be able to get the card to take a 730Mhz OC.

    hey spectacle...hey bud..

    with my CF setup and trying to overclock the cards with my opty @ 2.9 my 650 BFG im testing for someone wont run em when you try to game or Bench ( well not for very long...) but i took an old 550 w antec and run my pump and fans off of that...now no problems ;) ssems the BFG was falling down on the 12v and sucking power from the rest...
    i have my OCZ 700GXSLI and a new Muskin 650w to try later ( well the Muskin on monday )

    Of course I do. ATi tool does not work properly without disabling that. The most success I've had so far was when I tried Tray Tools, and did NOT disable ati hotpoller. That actually worked very well, and I was able to set the core voltage fine, and I got it pretty far. But of course, it only worked till I rebooted, when my entire screen filled up with artifacts. Joy!
    I'm putting the card under water at monday, so I'll experiment some more then.

    So tray Tools works better huh? Haven't tried that yet. I think I'll have a go with it.....

    Well I just did some driver tweaks and broke 20k in 05 but what ever I did made my score worse in 06 :bonk: so I'll keep tinkering......

    Nice score Spectacle, if i were you i would get a much better PSU. BFG isnt a PSU brand you can trust get mine, wich can handle 950W and thats not peak, it can really output that much Power. Or get the FPS 700 or how its name is i cant remember right now.

    I'm thinking about picking up an enermax galaxy 1000w but I'm not sure.

    Interesting news. Thanks for heads up. But for gaming I'm fine, no problems. Played about 3 hours of Company of Heros last night with the little OC that CCC lets me have, and no issues. Which leads me to believe that this is a software issue or myabe a driver issue, as I'm using the beta 6.10 cats. I would think that a PSU with 40a on the 12v rail (my BFG) should at least handle a little OCing. But I'm thinking about an enermax galaxy 1000w for this thing. Because to be fair, the PSU is running the cards, CPU, water pump, 5 fans, and 2 cathodes along with all the other stuff. But I was warned before I got the cards by the helpfull folks over in the Crossfire users guide....

    just get a PC power and cooling 850 if you'll spend that much on a psu;).

    I can get one for about $300 is why I'm considering it. It's just that i know they are longer than standard PSUs and with my case (Antec Lanboy) I'm not sure if there will be enough room between it and the optical drives.
