I will be running the server. Anyone welcome.

 

the server isnt working i also tried making a dedicated one and it wouldnt work. i made one that isnt dedicated and it appears to be working im on it right now can someone plz come and check it out. ip is 192.168.1.64:27888

my internet went down server should be working now try it out.

How can 192.168.1.2 be the server? Thats the LAN server IP, an external one must be given to us ie: 262.234.123.12:27888

Yep. This is an "internet for dummies" opening chapter thing.
Get your external ip. Then get the a static DNS so that you don't have to give everyone a new address every time your connection drops out.

finaly got a dedicated server up and running. ip is 192.168.1.64:27888

If you go to that, or any 192.168.1.*, ip address. It will just take you to an INTERNAL, NETWORK. location. 192.168.1. doesn't exist on the internet.
For instance.
My router, and yours by the look of it, numbers its LAN connectiions 192.168.1.64 and up to 192.168.1.68
If I were to go to the ip address you supplied, it would take me to my own computer. Since mine is also 192.168.1.64 and since I don't have YOUR fear server on my computer, I can not play.
Go to the page I meantioned above and replace the address it tells you into the place. of 192.168.1.64..........
This however changes every time you reconnect to your internet service provider, so either update this page when that happens or get a static ip from the other link I gave you above, dyndns.

 

so if the ip i suplied doesnt work why r ppl playing on the server right now? and as i already said i have no idea on how to make a static ip.

 

People are playing because they see it on the internet, but when they join they see your external ip address, they didnt type in 192.168.1.*

 

If your server is on your computer then look at my next post and it'll tell you what your ip is

 

yup thats me lol. so thats the ip for the server right. or do u have to put. :27888 after the ip.

75.31.66.148:27888 is the temporary G3D server til emachine gets his up.
