Hello all, new to this forum and building in general. I have a gtx 780 currently and am just wanting to upgrade to SLI. Will these two models run in sli? Thank you very much. Only difference I can see is the warranty, everything else is identical, 1 yr warranty for the rx (refurbished) version vs 3 yr
Just make sure you set the standard clocked card as primary (place in the 1st x16 slot) as it's not guaranteed to run at the same speeds as to run at the same speeds as the SC card and be stable.
both the same chip gtx 780 both 3gb of vram it should be fine but don't listen to anyone who says vram can be different unless you want to try running drivers from 2007
This doesn't matter anymore as drivers no longer force GPU clocks to match and have not for years. Each will run at it's own clock and boost independently unless you use some third party tool to sync them.
Yeah, you might have 2 cards running at 2 different speeds, and use a + or - offset to match the clocks if they are different. My 680 sli ran at 2 different clocks, but my 780ti`s ran at the same clockspeed with using an offset. You can either run them at the same speed or just run them at the stock boost if you want.
