Anyone knows how to force an nVIDIA card to turn on when a program turns on when your cpu also has a built in gpu?
It's not my laptop so i can't look in the drivers or anything. It has to start *the moment* the app starts or it may not detect it correctly, it can't just jump in if things get messy.

Whatever the application is that needs your dGPU will need to be programmed and addressed for that. E.g. if it needs CUDA it'll need to be assigned by the actual software opposed to say Intel QS transcoding a movie or whatever.

As far as I know there is not an alternative that can trigger what you want, then again perhaps somebody else knows something that I don't know about.

It's a 3D heavy program. But it doesn't require a lot until you start building things :p.
I guess if the user starts a 3d heavy benchmark beforehand, the card will wake up. (?)
