Thank you PNeV for the list, I'll take a note of them and whichever one has the best deal, I'll grab one.

As for the guitar, my brother has to visit a shop and try before he buys. It may not be comfortable or he simply may not like the feel of it.

Anyways, this was something he was interested in, not at all bad for £308. Oh, and it MUST be roughly the same colour, picky guy he is!

^ Thank you southamptonfc, I'll keep you posted on what happens and I'll keep your tips in mind.

My brothers birthday is just next month, early march. He still has time to visit several shops and try the guitars out before he makes a final decision...

I think I'd get a higher end epiphone, maybe used. Or a used Gibson. I've had good luck with all of my stuff being used. Only thing I had to do to my ep was pot the pickups. They for some reason had feedback like crazy until I did. Then I just replaced the bridge with a Gibson 500T :)

^ I'd be tempted to get one of those just based on the pickups.

^ You've got some great gear there PNeV!

Are you able to play any solos from artists such as Nile or Metallica?

vox still makes good amps. I have valvtronix 20 modeling amp. 1x12ax7 and the rest is solid state. 40 w of mind numbing, ear bleeding power. its pretty for just a 1x12.

I also have a schecter omen FR active that i've been trying to sell w/ SD Blackouts and Coffin Case. $500 for both. the guitar is brand new, just sits in the case. I bought it for my son, he never touched it. I play my Ibanez, cuz I hate setting up the trem. I only use the schecter when i feel like dimebag squeels and pinch harmonics. i usually have it in c standard, drop c, or drop c#

Sadly, none of the guitars I have posted are mine! :(

    Here is what I have:
    Shine SIL-51
    [IMG]

This is a Korean made Shine guitar. They originally used to OEM to Ibanez, Epiphone, Dean etc but then put their own name on. This has had its pickups replace with a Bareknuckle Miracle Man in the bridge and a Bareknuckle Cold Sweat in the neck. This is currently in B with a 13 - 62 set of strings on it.

    Shine Telecaster:

I am not sure of the Model number of this one, but I got it for £110. This is my project guitar. This currently floats between E - Eb and D with a set of 11 - 49 strings. It is going to have a lot of work done to it such as:
    • New locking Machine Heads
    • New Ivory nut
    • Pickups replace with Gold covered Iron Gear Hot Slag & Rolling Mill pickups, with Gold pickup rings.
    • New Wilkinson Rolller bridge
    • New Tune-O-Matic stop bar
    • New Tone Knobs

I am essentially basing it around this:

Just wish mine had Neck binding! I also have a Kramer Striker 211 Custom coming next week with a Seymour Duncan Invader in the bridge which looks like so:

Its missing the back plate and truss rod cover, but they are like £3 to replace. Sorry for all the images :)

Nice, I was looking at the LTD 327 before (27 Fret with a Hot Rail). And that Ibanez, where those EMG pickups stock or upgraded? It looks like an RG 3xx (maybe a 620?) series but they all come with those crappy Infinity pickups.

I put the EMG's in it. I bought it used so I'm not sure what model it is.

I dig the Peavey, I saw a 7 String Predator on eBay with Dimarzio's sell for £120! I would have loved that...
