Hi, I have GA-X79-UP4 motherboard and the temperature stands on 50-55ºC idle and 60-65ºC while gaming.

Why do you think I have that temperatures? (Are they high or normal?)

    Thanks :book:

does cpu downclock and voltage drops in idle?
If it doesnt you maybe need to enable C-states, also only Windows balanced power plan will lower cpu freq/voltage to idle.

    What cooling do you have?

Yeah, cpu freq and voltage goes to idle if I don't do nothing,

Im using normal cooling, the back case fan.

Edit: Im using Nox Coolbay SX case.

We're asking what heatsink you're using on the processor. If you're using the one that came with it (in the box) you should really think about upgrading it, especially since you have a nice processor there.

If you're only using the rear exhaust fan that could be part of the problem. You need to get more air into the case using two fans up front.

You could also try adding another intake fan to the bottom of the case.
