Hi, Was wondering why my RivaTuner only allows to move the clocks on my 4870 only between 200 and 300 and memory between 250 and 750? This is not normal as I should be able to OC it over 750 for when it's inside 3D app.
Use built-in help system! The limits are defined in % in reference to default clock and can be overriden via MinClockLimit/MaxClockLimit entires in PowerUser tab.
I have found MaxClockLimit and MinClockLimit in RivaTuner \ Overclock \ Global Do I enter 250 and 850 or around for MinClock and MaxClock Limit as values? I never messed up in power user before.
Right click these values in PowerUSer tab then select "Help" icon in the context toolbar, it will give you the hints.
As someone told me in another thread, just by re-setting the min and max clocks available in RT will not help my problem, it might just be worse. If it detects the 2D clocks, that also means it uses my 2D voltage, which is 1.1v. If I do just increase the min and max clocks available I will ask my graphic card to use 3D clocks and over (since the hole point in this is to OC it) on 1.1v instead of 1.26v as it currently runs on. Also, I see people have no problems with their 4870 and RT to detect the correct 3D clocks, yet RT dosen't detect mine. Edit: Is there a way to disable "Allow driver-level Overdrive/Powerplay clock frequency control"? Maybe that's why RT detects the wrong clocks.
