Is it safe to match the 23.11 drivers with the 22.80 matched database for the closet power user settings?

Also what version of the Det. drivers do you recommend using?

    I didn't know this forum existed....until now.
Well, my regular hangouts are the FF7 Eidos Board, and Qhimm's Forum. With every Detonator release I try to get FF7PC to work with it and then post out the instructions. The Det 6.50 drivers seem to be the most reliable. But man....talk about an out of date driver.

Well, with the help of Rivatuner and the TNT patch for the game, it is possible to get FF7 to work, in Hardware-mode, with very few glitches. But it all hangs on one little (major) thing:

I have to be able to disable the 8-bit Texturing Palette thingy. If I can't disable it, I get a complete lock up with the TNT patch installed, or get horrible graphics with the unpatched version. The 8bit texturing that Nvidia made/included, doesn't work with FF7. (It layers the backgrounds, of FF7, out of order.)

I was using the 21.83 drivers, and Rivatuner was able to disable the 8-bit texturing. But with the new 23.11 drivers....I can't disable it.

So....the reason why I posted all of this here, is because..... I can tell you (because of the FF7config.exe file) that the 8bit disable feature of the 22.80 database, doesn't work with the 23.11 drivers.

I hope Nvidia didn't bury it too far.....
As for FF8....I have it....but I don't play it as much. The 6.50 drivers work fine with it. Can't remember what the 12.41's did...I can't remember if I played it when I had those drivers in. I can tell you that the 21.83 drivers don't work with FF8. Haven't did much testing with the newer drivers....but, from what I can tell, the graphics got worse.
