Hi Guys, I just received my new laptop, which is an Asus Strix GL502 (15.6", gtx1060 version) and the laptop itself is incredible. It ticks every box but the one little issue that's bugging me is there's a bit of backlight bleed. It's not that noticable during the day but at night, or in a darkened room, it's much more obvious. During the day In a low lit room Is this normal for an IPS display?
Its IPS glow, wich is a trade-off of IPS technology. On laptops it's more noticeable due to the thinner screen.
Thanks for the reply. People seem very conflicted on their opinions of what is normal when it comes to light bleed with IPS. I don't find it too distracting unless I'm playing a very dark game at night (e.g. Amnesia) or watching a film. Think I'll stick with it. It really is incredible how far laptop technology has come. This thing maxes out anything. I was going to ge tthe 1070 version but seems a bit overkill for 1080p, unless you get one with a higher refresh rate than 60.
