So we can sustain the armed convoy-style escorts for every one person infected right guys? :nerd:

But I do see the point in prioritizing the first cases so it doesn't get to the point where we have to divide resources.

Imo its over hyped for nothing, you just can't get it this easy, you need to touch those scars and wounds.

Whats funny is, first time I heard about it it was made in some US lab end 2013 or so, few moths later it it strangely got loose in Africa.
And Im quite sure it didnt appear out of nowhere, someone put it there to kill some and make room for them.

*found this now and I bet its not far from truth

Thanks for that link! Order out of chaos. You create something and release it into the world. Then you turn around and be the savior with the vaccine to stop it... all the while making a bunch of money and redistributing power.

Lol. What a ridiculous "article". Ebola has been around for a long time. The first recorded cases were in the early to mid 70's. The technology for genetic modification did not exist then. Knowledge of genetics in general had barely made any progress.

Also, how does doing "test trials" in Africa on the general population make any sense? It's the most un-scientific way you can do something. If they wanted to do it properly, they would just kidnap the homeless or some other poor soul and use them for testing in a basement somewhere.

Not necessarily true. Look up the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment where the USPHS experimented or "observed" on almost 400 African-American men in the late stages of syphilis from 1932 to 1972. Also look up how in 1946-1948 the USPHS infected 1,000 Guatemalans with venereal diseases just to test antibiotics.

The best way to test a new virus or bacteria is to release it into the wild. If you keep track of those you infect and who they come into contact with then these would be a nice crash run on the effects of the virus and if or how fast it would mutate in open society.

Its just the new SARS, Birdflu, Swineflu and whatever other super serious world destroying super bug that the media have caught wind of.

It is a serious issue in the countries affected, but being third world nations, theres a reason they are constantly hit by these super bugs. Poor living standards, low and or expensive medical resources, low hygeine standards in part to maximizing what little profits people can make and in part due to lack of education.

Though itd sure be swell if the govt would stop letting infected westerners back into western countries until theyve been given the all clear and not before hand.

Pretty sure more ppl die everyday in the USA(and/or any western country) from road accidents, drug and alcohol abuse, homicides, natural disasters and things like the common flu. Not taking away the severity of it, and it is a truly horrible disease and must be an agonizing way to die.
With the amount of media attention it gets, it would be interesting to know how much the 'west' has truly spent on helping these ppl and countries in Africa to contain it, versus say a few of the wars etc we have been in over the last 15 years or so.

Two in fact. ;) Don't assume someone is male just because they have a passing interest in hardware. Some of us actually do it for a living, even!
