Yeah I know what u mean... after my trusty Audigy 2 died yesterday I saw an XFI Fatality going for $50, I didn't want to deal with Creative crapola drivers but grabbed it anyway.

Was very happy to see DK had just released a new software pack....:D

    XFTI_PCDRV_L11_2_40_0008, released 7th March 2014.
    http://support.creative.com/Product...SET=prodfaq:PRODFAQ_17813,VARSET=CategoryID:1

...or the latest PAX driver, post#1065 on last page.

Uninstall all Creative software and OpenAL from Add/Remove Programs (don't reboot) then go to device manager, find Soundcard, right-click, uninstall device (check the box) reboot into safe mode, use DriverSweeper to clean out Creative specific leftovers, then Ccleaner.

Here are the files that get left behind after uninstalling Creative Drivers then running Driversweeper in Safe Mode.

    system32 folder:

    ctdpxy64.dll
    ctosur64.dll
    UDAAPO64.dll
    UDACFX64.dll
    UDAPLD64.dll

    sysWOW64 folder:

    ac3api.dll
    AppSetup.exe
    eaxac3.dll
    oalinst.exe
    UDAAIM64.exe
    UDAAPO32.dll
    UDAAPO64.UDA
    UDACFX32.dll
    UDACFX64.UDA
    UDATEL32.exe
    UDATEL64.exe

CCleaner gets rid of most registry entries, these alone remain.

    Regedit:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Creative Tech
    HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\CREATIVE TECH

Seems the front panel problem is common with this card with no clear fix.I opted to not install it with my last system upgrade.

I had working front panel Headhpones auto switch (HD audio on pc case), but then I decided to run win8manager repair system components and it stopped working..

Guess I'll have to do a tough uninstalling too, yesterday I just uninstalled whole DK pack and reinstalled but it still remembered my config files.

Usually it was enough just to uninstall driver in devicemaneger (F5) and let it reinstall again reboot and done.. meh :infinity:

Lol! Remember this is Creative we're talking about.Clean drivers were never their strong point and a huge "DON'T BUY" for a lot of people after Vista came out.But I must commend them on their last three driver releases (as spaced out as they were) they were really good. The last one being the best imo.

Edit: Another good practice is to uninstall Creative Auto Update Software after installer has finished, before you restart. That gets installed by default unfortunately.

I feel stupid, you know what was the problem for front panel automatically enabled headphones detection/changing, CTXFI helper.exe @ windows startup.

Once I re-enabled & started it again it works np, I remember disabling this right before it stopped responding in win8manager but never thought its that and yep..

I said to my self need to remember its for HP, but totally forgot after few months :D

Odd thing with my x-fi Extreme music, I have been using the older official drivers, and I have my sound card connection to a digital amp, and I use the flexi jack as the output. Everything works really well. I then decided to try the newer version of the drivers (the last official drivers on Creative's web site), and with the same settings, I no longer get any sound out of the flexi jack, going back to the older drivers and things work. Any ideas why this happens?

Using Windows 7 64bit. Creative support is not interested in my issues
