hey guys, this is the motherboard i have for a HTPC im going to build.. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2814#sp I have a 5.1 surround sound system which is a samsung wireless system.. How would i go about hooking it up ? Would i use HDMI to my TV or ?
Not knowing the wireless system its hard to guess, My HTPC is connected my speakers via an Onkyo 577 AV Reciever through HDMI from a Radeon 5450.
Heres the other thread which has it.. Is that correct? http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=336634#post3846761
Well normally you'd have Your PC wired into the AVR's HDMI in. Your speakers wired off the AVR speaker terminals, Your TV wired of the AVR HDMI out. But as you have a wireless set I don't know what inputs it has. This is mine, http://www.avland.co.uk/aasp/onkyo/0920/txsr577/rearlrg.jpg Speakers wired off the terminals on the right, and hdmi in/out on the top left
Yes. I've been running a HTPC for over 7 years. Before HDMI it was a component breakout for me with analog 6ch so it's gotten easier these days.
Im getting this card, Would i still go it the same as above except it'll be coming from the 6450 HDMI to Receiver? I want 5.1 surround sound btw.. Link is below.. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-ATi-...60005524?pt=AU_Components&hash=item4cfcdf4694
that'll work fine any of the ATI 5000 series cards and up. Plus it says on there supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-MA so you're set.
just like any thing else in your computer as long as your software is all set right you're good. If that doesn't make sense then I dunno...
