Hello all, Thanks in advance for any help that I get.

I recently installed Win 8.1 about two months ago, and around a month ago I have started experiencing random spots of my computer not being able to do anything. It's usually during something intensive, too, like games or lots of programs opening.

It consists of around 50-80 seconds of literally nothing able to move or work, sometimes completely freezing the computer for the duration.

I have looked online and the only solution I have seen is to switch the mode from AHCI to IDE, but it is already on IDE mode.

    Any tips? Thanks!

    Matt

AHCI mode is quite faster than IDE mode. And may be TRIM is not working in IDE mode. (And if TRIM is not working then your SSD is overwhelmed trying to find unused blocks.)
