It looks like you would be better with HPET off, your "Time for QueryPerformanceCounter call" is 764,1 ns.

Mine is 26.0 ns with HPET off in Windows but 788.2 ns with it on.

Thank for the remind again, and yes, I did read it, and now I read it again to make sure I am understanding it right. :)

So if you are facing some stutter issues, then forcing HPET to check did TSC is having issues or not.
If nothing changed(not including performance loss, as HPET will always causing some performance loss), then your computer hardware is working good, and just change it back to default settings, then start checking the driver or I/O.

    You are welcome. :)

Yup, it should be force using HPET only, as the frequency is 14Mhz.
    ---
And ya, interesting, so I guess Windows 7(If this is your windows version) is not forcing to use HPET for AMD CPU, but since Windows 8+ then?

I am using Windows 8.1 Update 1, when I have HPET on in the BIOS and I don't use the "bcdedit /set useplatformclock true" command I get this:

This is what I get If I use the "bcdedit /set useplatformclock true" command as well:

Thank for the info, so it look like you don't facing the force HPET issues.
If my memory don't fail me, there are some AMD user will facing force HPET after installed the driver, and it is normal when they has a fresh Windows installed.

Did you has some AMD driver that is not installed or using the MS driver?
    Which one?
Anyways, PC clock timing is here.
And Timer Resolution is here, just download the Version 1.2 should be enough.
There are also many similar Timer Resolution tools in this thread too, you can search/Google for it.

I have no AMD drivers installed, just the standard MS drivers for my motherboard and the Quadro 340.52 drivers for my GPU.

Thank for the clue, so it is AMD driver doing that, or it is just for FX series.

I have obtained a reduction in stutterings using this tool that reduces the windows system timer resolution.
The TimerTool window it's impossible to hide or minimize, so i've made an AutoHotKey script that runs the .exe, press the set button than hides the window!

Zip File with Timertool + Tool to Run and Hide
    DOWNLOAD

Just link the TimerTool - run in "AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup" to run it at startup!

    Also you can try this

System service is more appropriate form of application to set timer resolution, imo. I mean that code is all the same in all timer resolution tools (as they just call Win32 API). But the kind of process type is different - console app, GUI app, system service.

I also made an auto run and hide app, lol.

Just installed Windows 8.1 on my FX-8350. Was using TSC. Installed all updates, and installed ethernet and audio drivers, and was still using TSC.

Installed Catalyst, and then useplatformclock was added to bcedit, and HPET was in-use on reboot.

I'm not entirely certain if it was the GPU driver or another part of Catalyst though, but some part of Catalyst enforces HPET when in-use on AMD systems (I don't recall it being an issue on Intel).

Thank for the info, at least we know it is added by AMD driver, just like the old AMD Dual-Core Optimizer also enabled HPET for Windows XP too.:)
