Still too long when reference cards run loud and hot and people are waiting for AIB. Then 1060 AIB swoops in before 480 AIB.

I honestly feel like AMD are doing their best to sabotage themselves most of the time.

Looks good and 1420 is better than I thought would be achieved on air.

AMD always does this. Great hardware, but very poor management.

    nice...
here is an updated benchmark portfolio from the german golem

btw. 1060 AIB nowhere near to be found yet. also not a single score in 3dmark database...

vendors expect 1060 to ship in beginning of august, so basically all the talk about 1060 being here is crap.
you can preorder it but in all renowned online shops the delivery status is still pending. so anybody trying to paint a different picture ... well... it's time to stop.

New Info about PC Devil RX 480 !

POWERCOLOR RED DEVIL RX 480 – A NEW DEVIL IS BORN

TUL Corporation, a leading and innovative manufacturer of AMD graphic cards since 1997, has released a brand new video card in PowerColor Red Devil RX 480 8GB GDDR5. It is based on AMD’s latest GCN 4 architecture designed for GloFo 14nm FinFET that delivers premium VR capability, increased level of performance, smooth VR, seamless support for next-gen gaming monitors, and CPU-free game streaming or recording. Furthermore, the model also supports AMD’s newest technologies such as Direct 12® and VulkanTM, FreeSyncTM, and Liquid VR.

PowerColor Red Devil RX 480 8GB GDDR5 utilizes 8GB of GDDR5 memory with 2304 stream processors, ships core clock up to 1330MHz, and has 2000MHz memory clock speed which is connected via a new high speed 256-bit memory interface. Having a 8Pin power connector plus superior 6+1 multi-phases where each phase supplies 25W instead of 22.5W found in other boards this board is designed for the ultimate performance. (My Note: XFX DD Black will pack 6+2 Phases and thus has 180tW and Devil has slightly less: 175tW)

The board design enhances the power efficiency and stability, and also enables ultimate performance in overclocking mode with BIOS switch. In order to achieve better thermal solution in both ultra overclocking and silent overclocking mode, PowerColor Red Devil RX 480 adopts the newest fan technology called Double Blade III which increases airflows and prevents dust deposition on fans. The Double Blade III is made with triple 80mm 2-ball bearing fans, with 2pcs of 8mm and another 2pcs of 6mm nickel-plated heat pipe for the best heat dissipation.

In creating one solid card with all components, the Red Devil also includes a backplate as well as having the PCB locked in a thermal module using the method of spring screws to pin through the rivets. The backplate and the copper based thermal module hold the GPU for not only balancing the pressure of the whole board but also for avoiding the damage done to the GPU and other components if dropped.

Suggested retail price of 269USD with availability on the 29th.

Dual Bios, Ultra OC and Silent, 1330Mhz Ultra / 1276Mhz Silent.

Red Devil card users will be the first ones to enjoy Devil Club membership which will offer speedy support with live chat as the key point, besides downloads, news and competitions exclusive for them.

Finally someone spent time to make "Performance per $" comparison which I have been asking from Pascal's 1st reviews.
    https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/RX_480_STRIX_OC/25.html
And on that note, TPU does not even test Hitman in DX12 "as it's too buggy". And rest of bunch is not much representation for future performance expectations.

I am actually surprised that RX-480 did so well in this comparison under given circumstances.

What price do he use for the 10xx cards MSRP or FE? It looks like founders edition considering the 1060 is so far off the 480. Look I understand using FE on the 1070/80 as most cards are gonna hover around there but $249 1060's are already listed.

In the UK the 1070 and 980ti are better at performance/currency than the 480.

These performance per dollar charts are irrelevant because prices vary wildly across regions.

I have to agree that there are some nicely priced GTX 1060s. But here all RX-480 come with Total War: Warhammer.
That's nice offset to price, and it shows that AMD understands that card's pricing is not perfect.

    IMO
    The card pricing is exellent:
    Great 1080p performance for just 219€ !
Great FHD + Really good 1440p (not all Ultra like in benchies) perf. for ~250€

We can't judge them badly, we need to look at it how it really is:
Unpararell Gaming Performance + Future Proof & Big Bang4Buck.

    Great Premiere IMO... :formal:
