i dont know but these cards are making allot of noise under load, i already tried different things like set the temp limit on 70 then they are silent but boost clocks are pretty low then, and i get a lower fps then to, the standard fan farget for those cards are 83c, gpu1 can easy get that temp under load while playing witcher 3 or metro last light redux and thats under 1080p, i am thinking to sell these ones, and get the MSI Gaming ones, is that a good idea, or should i stick with these ?

Without sli its perfect, gpu never reach higher temps then 75-78 c in any game, and noise wise is also oke.

Swap em out for Hybrid cards if you're not happy, don't hit more than around 60c and can't even hear them.

They're lovely looking cards if windows are your thing also, they seem like a fantastic option.

You're making me even more proud of my 980G1 which never goes above 63C stock fan curve!

    Nice joke xD

Maybe with wolfenstein because its an open gl game, but with the witcher 3 i dont believe u even with a single gpu thats just bollocks, unless u play on lowest of low settings and performance mode in nvidia control panel instead of quality lol.

I just put an EVGA hybrid heatsink on my 980ti's. They're amazing! Don't even break 50c fully loaded in Witcher 3 for over an hour.

83C sounds OK for cards in SLI but do you have enough case ventilation?

You don't believe mahanddeem's claim that his card doesn't go above 63C but I could believe that if his case is well ventilated.

Sorry but with heavy games like the witcher 3 i cant imagine that.

Ofcourse i have a good airflow i have the cooler master haf x case, its airflow is fantastic.

Hilbert's review shows it at 64C

    http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/gigabyte_geforce_gtx_980_g1_gaming_review,8.html

Slightly different again but my card @1450mhz with Arctic Accelero doesn't even hit 60C in GTA V, W3 etc.

What overclock are you running on your cards? As I said, I wouldn't be worried about 83C. Are the fans too noisy as well?

Place the cards as far apart from each other as your motherboard allows.
It wont hit the performance a single bit if you place the second card in a PCIe x 8 (Gen3) slot.
I've done the same with my own setup, First Titan X in the first PCIe x16 slot and the second Titan X in the last slot of my motherboard which happens to be a PCIe x8 slot. The extra 2 slot space (so 4 slot space in total with 2.5 slot AC Xtreme coolers) between the cards make a huge difference in temperatures compared to the previous setup where i had the cards in the two PCIe x 16 slots of my motherboard with only 1 slot space between them.
Only downside is that you probably going to need a 140mm SLI bridge which can be pretty hard to obtain to be able to run the cards in that setup.

Thats with no case, just naked open.
No overclocking @ all all factory stock overclocked.
If i put SLI off GPU1 never reach higher temps then 78c under full load with witcher 3, or crysis 3 on full HD and all things to the max.

GPU1 fan noise is hearable when it goes into 85%
GPU2 however never goes beyond 65% of fanspeed, because it runs about 13 to 15 celcius cooler.

your airflow is negative, meaning you're pulling more air out of the case than you're pulling in. I would definitely run a more positive airflow with SLI.

So what u are just saying is i need to change my airflow, because my old gigabyte gtx 980g1 gaming sli ran allot cooler then this sli set-up.

What are u trying to say ?

If u look @ other folk here on the forum if i am correct, it was TK who was running MSI,s GTX 980 TI he got about the same temps as me if i remember correctly.

The TDP difference between a 980 and a 980ti is HUGE. 980Ti's run WAY hotter than 980s. I really wish people would stop comparing the two.

I was in the same exact predicament as you. I came from 980 SLI, too. That's why I just bit the bullet and bought some of EVGA's hybrid coolers to slap on my cards. World of difference, but I can understand a lot of people wouldn't want to invest another $200 after spending $1300ish already.
