Problem with Gainward GTX 780Ti 3Go Hello, At present I use the driver 331,82 for my Gainward GTX 780Ti 3Go and my games not problem. I play very often at battlefield 3 and 4 online. But If I update with a new driver (drivers after 331,82) I sometimes have small freeze (battlefield 3 and 4 solo and online) and may be Far Cry 3 solo. Example for the mini freeze : In scenes charged with big explosions no problem but after I can run only on the map hop a mini freeze. And I can play one day without mini freeze : it are random. All my components were tested : with or without ssd, with or without sound card, other Memory, other power supply and I even changed motherboard but always this problem. I also tested the last driver 337,88 I had formated several times before the reinstallation of various drivers. I tested another GPU on my computer, the GTX 780 and I have the same problem with this card. (the problem would not result of my Gaiwnard GTX 780Ti) All my components were tested except the processor and I did not test windows 8.1. I have to stay with the driver 331,82 but I am frustrated because with the last driver 337,88 the gains of performance are enormous in Battlefield 4 and in my other games. My computer : I7 4770K, Asus Z87 Pro, Kingston HyperX Predator PC19200 2 x 4Go, Samsung 840 Pro 256Gb, Seagate Barracuda 1To, Asus Xonar DX, OCZ 650W ZT, windows 7 64 bits. Cordially
Hi, welcome Try newest 340.43 and use windows high performance power plan when you game, same in nvcpl game profiles set to prefer max perf. instead of adaptive. I saw a few 780/780ti/titan users reporting this occasional micro stuttering (@nvidia forums anything above 331.82 - 337.xx ).. Someone made a extensive report at which intervals it happens, etc. I saw the same thing with 580gtx (331.87, 337.82 were ok), similar on 780 now but not as frequent. Later nv tech asked for gpu bios versions btw Thief 2014 runs much better with 340.43, it uses kinda crappy U3E streaming and yeah was smooth through whole benchmark not a single stream jitter/stutter, 337.xx had 1-2 here and there.. Although both BF3/4 were ok with something like 337.90, didnt try with 340.43 yet, but I think it will be the same there, better texture streaming.
i had horrible experience in bf4 campaign with those drivers too (and MP at times also i guess), titanZ driver is fine, and i got the newest driver -Tj-mentioned to try also.
Hello, thank you for your answers, I tested all the pilots after 331,82 unsuccessfully I am going to test the last driver 340,43. I maybe thought of installing Windows 8.1. Cordially
hello, I installed Windows 8.1 64bits : I formated I installed the last driver and I still have this problem. I also have these freezes in Far cry 2 and I also confirm in Far Cry 3. All my components were tested, I am distraught.... Cordially.
Any bios updates for your MB and GC ? Maybe try clearing you CMOS if you haven't already. If you're running any monitoring software, disable it to see if it makes a difference. Just a few suggestions, seems like you've done and tested everything else.
hello thank you for your answers, On my MB Asus Z87 Pro, I installed the last bios 2005 and I tested all the bios published by Asus. I also tested other MB Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H. Bios GC : 80.80.34.00.01. It is possible that the problem results from the cpu? Nevertheless I increased vcore vring. My problems began on Haswell before I had no these problems on sandy bridge (Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 + I5 2500K). Problem driver or problem cpu maybe. Edit : no monitoring software in game. Cordially
Depends on what kind of Overclock you have on your CPU. Here what I would do to test your CPU. Set all your CPU settings to stock in the UEFI/BIOS. And play your games like you normally would do and see how the game or games behaves.
So no luck with 340.43? Btw you can try these settings in bios - advanced menu. -enable xmp if not already -keep asus multicore enabled if you're running stock, so it maxes all cores @ 3.9ghz. -disable/change all pcie settings like on pic. Some extra stuff is mostly if you OC, For example in digi+, you can keep all at auto, that cpu power current to 110-130% is only for above 4.4ghz+, also depends on cpu VID voltage.. ivr fault management - disabled svid control - disabled manual input voltage bellow ^ these 3 settings will disable communication with ivr and potentially lower cpu vrm power and temperature. But you have to be sure to enter correct value bellow, usually 1.75 -1.80v is more then enough.. I need 1.79v @ 4.7ghz 1.27v. ~ 0.5v gap between cpuVID and Vccin - input voltage seems the best. cpu spread spectrum -disabled I didnt make a print screen of cpu c-states, though.. Default is auto - off. Something like dynamic storage accelerator won't work in this case, since it doesn't have to turn off anything.. But keep in mind if you're running high perf power plan it will run at max volts all the time, only balanced power plan will lower both freq. and voltage in idle.
hello thanks you, Yes I tested these various parameters in bios but unsuccessfully. I am perplexe it is the first time when I have this kind of problem. Cordially.
Hmm increasing the vcore wouldn't help your cause if you are running your CPU at stock speeds. I thought It might be your Power Supply not providing enough power but I looked up its specs and its 12V Rail is only 2 Amps more than what TJ is running with his Power Supply but still the same Wattage. I don't know the total wattage a 780 Ti would use vs a 780.
hello, I again tested with a GTX 780 for 3 days : always this problem. But I maybe noticed something, It looks like freezes appears with certain sounds. But I tested without Asus Xonar DX, with chipset audio Realtek and several drivers Realtek unsuccessfully..... :bang: Cordially.
Well all I can say is this; nvidia is aware of this issue, if affects few GK110 chips, I've seen few reports and they were able to reproduce this issue. For me personally 340.43 is on a right track, although it didnt have any pronounced glitches like that.. First got the gpu 1-2months ago and started using 337.xx drivers. I would wait a bit for next driver branch and stay @ 331.82 until then.
hello, To be sure I tested another cpu I7 4770K : the problem is still present. Indeed these freezes comes from drivers. I am going to wait for a driver who will correct this problem. I play with a screen 120hz and the driver 331,82 the performances are mitigated. But I have to wait a new driver. Cordially.
