Hi All, I'm fairly "oblivious" when it comes to overclocking Haswell - I'm currently running the chip at 4.7 turbo using an offset voltage. The voltage it sits on currently is 1.285 under load - I've tried previously to get it to 4.8 but with little success. I'm just wondering, as I have literally only change the turbo multiplier to 47, and set an offset voltage - what else can I do to improve the OC? - I'm not sure if it requires 1.285, as it was stable lower than that for days - then crashed once Thanks,
Chances are you've hit the "wall" at 4.7 GHz, going any higher will need a huge boost in voltage and thus probably isn't worth bothering with. As long as your system is stable in deaily use you're probably alright, might be worth bumpoing the voltage up a bit to make sure it's totally stable.
Hi there As above, chances are you hitting wall on yours 4790k I've run i7-4790k with Asus ROG VIII Gene,I've run for while i7-4790k at 4.6GHz with 1.228v then I've raised to 1.259v as I've got BSOD during the rendering Then I've tried 4.7GHz which I've run for while at 1.259v,in one day I could render 10 renders and next day started to crash and after playing with BIOS I've found 1.31v stable for 4.7GHz,then started to lower and at 1.275v I found pretty much stable vCore 4.8GHz tried only few times and if I remember correctly I needed 1.35v to be 100% stable in any program, but temps started to shoot up and I reverted to 4.7GHz and then I sold it to friend and he is now running same as I've run 4.7GHz My settings has been: Input voltage: 1.75-1.79v Cache voltage: 1.17v vCore: 1.259v(4.6GHz),1.31v(4.7GHz),4.8GHz(1.35v) Hope this helps Thanks,Jura
