After i did benchmarks for SLI GTX970 vs. GTX980 Ti vs. GTX1070, which you can find here, i've decided to do a separate fair battle between GTX980 Ti and GTX1070 given the fact that last time GTX1070 was a poor factory overclock compared to GTX980 Ti good factory overclock; this time both of the cards are Strix OC gaming variants. Yes, GTX1070 crashed when overclocked to 2075 MHz boost clock from it's maximum 2017 MHz boost clock with 50 mV added, so no OC vs. OC battle possible.
