I am thinking of gettin a SonyKDL46W3000 (46" 1080p) Can my current rig handle these games played on this display. Do pc games run okay on such displays ? The Sony would be connected as a secondary display.
You already have a monitor which is 1920x1200... if you can play fine at that resolution then you'll be able to play at 1920x1080.... it's a lower res :3eyes:
i have a 64in hdtv and my comp can handle 720p and 1080. haven't did 1080p tv don't support it. so yes your rig can definitely run the hdtv resolution. and game wise its sweet i get 65 to 81 fps in cod4 with everything maxed so you decide
so fps is not an issue on these tv's ? my rig and tv is in the same room and i want to be able to play GTA IV when it comes out using ps2 controllers on the big screen
LCD TV's are LCDs... the size of the LCD itself doesn't make any difference. The frames you would get at 1080p are the same as you would get on another other monitor if you set the resolution to 1920x1080. It's just a big monitor with a TV tuner in it. In fact, just set your Samsung 244T to 1920x1080 in the display properties and that will be the exact same fps as the TV will do.
I've been using my 720p 37" HDTV as my primary monitor for about 6 months now. It works great. It's native resolution of 1360x768 is also easier on my video card than my 19" LCD monitor was (at 1280x1024). Gaming has been very nice on it.
nothing like playing guitar hero on a 50inch screen. my kids wont even play it on their own computers anymore.
ya man go for it i have a 19 inch viewsonic monitor and 40 inch samsung fullhd lcd tv but since i am running sli it was a pain to switch monitors i had to restart pc everytime and the resolutions were different between the two displays and i had to change resolution of each game before and after switching displays now i got rid of the 19 inch viewsonic and using the 40 inch samsung hdtv as my primary display and wow it rocks playing assassins creed at 1920 x 1080 in dx10 vista64:banana:
i want to be connecting the hdtv using hdmi and as Im going to be running a 15m cable i am wanting to send the sound signal down the hdmi instead of running video and audio cables i take it my X-Fi gamer is incapable of this ???
im sure iv seen a link of an upcoming soundcard from auzentech that will take an input from vid card and then pass video and audio out through hdmi any info on this card ?
the new palit 9600gt sonic. that has all the new ports you will want. and most vid cards dont actually work running sound through the hdmi ports, even if they say they do. youd make your life alot easier by just running the audio cables.
