    Hello,

I recently purchased a Sennheiser HD650 and I love how it sounds.

Unfortunately, my wife can't stand when I listen some music with it because it's an open headphone...

So I need some help to find another one that won't disturb. I tried AKG 272 but medium range is too present for me. Any good idea? My budget is about 400€.

    Thanks!

The best thing you can do is go some where, where they have headphones set out for demo and give them a listen. What kind of sound are your looking for? so people can give suggestions.

If you can find a place with a listening station, you could give these a listen if they have them, all of these are closed back like you asked. Audio Technica A900X,Focal Spirit Classic,Shure SRH 1540 a listen, just to name a few. But your gonna have to give them a listen your self which will be the major factor.

I have owned the A900X and I enjoyed them very much when I had them,But I can't really remember how they sound even tho I remember liking them. I tend to like some form of neutral or close to it headphones.

I seen people mention that the shure and the Focal Spirit Classic sound similar to the HD650 but your gonna have to give them a listen to make sure. Amazon.fr has both shure and Focal Spirit Classic, but the sure is over your budget while the Focal Spirit Classic is not.

Wouldnt it be easier to tell her to go to another room, or move your desktop elsewhere?

I sure she might throw his desktop out the window along with them if he did.

Be careful, you don't want to go deaf.. Beyerdynamics DT770 pro 80's rock.. Its hard to give one recommendation when there are so many headphones out there.

If your head or ears aren't big, I recommend the Focal Spirit Classic.

Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO - they block sound very good (in both directions) and sound very good too

Not married yet, and hopefully not for years.

But the OP and his wife are in separate rooms

My wife could hear the explosions and gunfire when she was in the bedroom when I was playing fps in the living room. :)

Did you decide? Try a few,you can send them back. The DT 770's are popular for gaming..Closed design, great bass..
