    Hi everyone,

I'm about to order 2x MSI Radeon HD 6950 Twin Frozr III Power

    And the next components:

    -ASRock P67 Extreme4 B3
    -Intel core i5 2500K 3.3
    -2x4Gb RAM 1600
    -PSU is an Antec HCG-900

Question is, assuming the PSU isn't an overkill which surely isn't cause i'm planning on OCing a little bit: would you use a more powerful psu OR would you order a different card?

This would be part of my gaming rig. I'd appreciate a little help cause i'm kinda stuck here. Thanx!

You've got loads of headroom for overclocking with a 900w PSU.
You won't use more than 600w, regular BF3 gaming gave me 500w usage while overclocked with CFX.

A lot of people go over kill on PSU's and think they need 1000+ watts. You have plenty of power. A computer like yours uses around 300-400 watts under load. I've seen many computers checked with meters and you would be really surprised at the wattage. My buddy owns a computer store here in town and I had him prove to me I wasn't full of it and I was "shocked" at what I was seeing. I just did a quick search on newegg on watt meters and read through some of the posts. Check this one out, he writes.

"I leaned that at full blast my pc is costing me $20.00 extra to run 24/7 with music pumping, Vuze 10MB/s downloads and surfing the web. Total energy draw = 270 Watts. Below is a list of the all items plugged in".

    IGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5
AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE Deneb 3.4GHz
    8Gb G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3
    SAPPHIRE HD 4650 1GB 128-bit DDR2
    SAPPHIRE HD 5570 1GB 128-bit DDR3
    HITACHI Deskstar 5K3000 2TB 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
Rosewill Libertas Series LIB-800 800W Continuous Full Modular
    1 Acer 23" LED Monitor
2 ViewSonic LCD 22" widescreen monitors
Altec Lansing 3.1 speaker system with powered sub-woofer and satellites
1 Fijutsu 25ppm high speed scanner
1 Western Digital 1.5TB external hard drive
    1 AT&T 2Wire broadband router

Here is the page if you want to find out how many watts a system similar to yours is using just to get an idea. That's good to hear. How did you measure the PSU usage?

There's meters you can put between the socket and your PC that measure watts, amperes etc.
