What should i do when upgrading Riva version so not to lose the overclock / fan speed control settings i created with the previous version ? Thank you
When you run the uninstaller...RT will ask if your upgrading. Read what it says and click NO to save your settings. Install RT right back into the exact same folder you just uninstalled from. It will save those settings.
Thank you. Just to make sure i won't do something stupid and loose the oc/fan control settings i had, i am explaining more: i had an 8800GT with 169.21 and i managed long time ago to set up Riva 2.06 to automatically control OC and fan speeds. Today i replaced the 8800GT with a 8800GTS 512 the drivers seem to recognize the card normally but when i run riva its missing the driver settings customization part (directx settings etc.) My preset launchers seem to be still in place. What am i advised to do to restore full Riva functionality and my previous automatic OC/fan speed settings? Thanks again ok i found the manual cfg addition of GTS 512 (http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=246531&highlight=8800GTS) which restored the driver settings panel functionality but my OC profiles riva says cant be used any more ... That makes sense since its a new GPU and the only way is to remake new ones? also, when i tried to uninstall the uninstaller didn't ask me anything about upgrading thankfully as a precaution i tried uninstalling while riva was loaded so it got aborted are we sure about the fore mentioned procedure? is there maybe some additional way to "backup" those settings/profiles etc? Thank you again
There is a registry entry you can export. Search Unwinder in there and export it. Also see the stickie thread for guide. I believe it shows how it's done. The stickie thread is in the General forum http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=195029 The method I described works for me.
