Default GTX 570 auto downclocks? - 05-15-2012, 12:50 | posts: 44 | Location: Georgia, U.S.A

Probably a simple answer.

I oc'd my 570 to 775 Ghz with Afterburner. While stress testing with Kombuster the card would downclock to 388 Ghz each time the temp would hit 70c. This is the first time this has ever happened and the first time the card has reached 70c as far as I know. My fan speed profile is working as I can hear it cycle up and down with temp.

Is this normal for this card or is there a setting I have missed. Thanks.

Is this normal

It happens.

Whether it is bug or working as intended(protection) - I don't know.

The thing is, the usual methods of devcon.exe and Device Manager gfx removal do not restore the clocks in newer drivers.
For me it mainly happens if both undervolting and overclocking.

Not a biggie, so IR 2 LAZY to report the issue

I am overvolting from .988 to 1.0. I had to do that to get stable even at that slight oc. I guess I could try to get the temp over 70c at stock settings and see what happens. That will be tough however as the card cools pretty good.
