A story centered on the battle of Stalingrad during WWII. Director: Fedor Bondarchuk Writers: Sergei Snezhkin, Ilya Tilkin IMDb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1966566/?ref_=sr_2 Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=wekmV8W0bik#at=115
Eh, I don't judge films based on trailers, but that looks terrible. Resembles a cheesy, glossy computer game. Stalingrad was a terrible, dirty and gritty battle, it shouldn't look like something Michael Bay pulled out of his ass. Blergh.
This, at first it looked to be good but then after all the CGI and slow-motion bull****, uke2: I think I'll pass on this one.
Haha are you kidding me? This movie looks AWESOME, about time they made a decent war movie. But its personal preference anyway.
They already made a film about Stalingrad. It's called... Stalingrad, and it's pretty good. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108211/combined Hint: it isn't glossy. Oh, and btw: If you want to see an excellent Russian war flick, why not watch the best one while you're at it? "Come and See": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091251/combined The prospects of war will never disgust you more than after watching this one, I promise.
CGI looks way over the top! Its probably going to turn out to be a typical Hollywood action film! This is a good film russian film, quality is quite bad tho! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuoVyHNUW5E
Looks okay but not mind blowing. Remember the trailer for Alien Vs. Predator? That trailer was decent but the movie was total ass. Never trust trailers.
This. Why is it mindblowing anyway? This is the same for movies and games, same thing happened with the recent release of Company of Heroes 2, hype hype, a few trailers and then bam...Steam is or was asking 50€ and now you can purchase it for 20€ on major web store keys.Same thing happened with Grid 2 if not mistaken. Marketing these days is a killer.
Well it's personal taste anyway... trailer really made me wow. The location's looked really stunning as well. Last time i watched a decent WW2 genre was The Pacific. People these days are really negative towards movies.
I think it will be epic. I can forgive and forget using teal and orange, so long as the story and characters are worth it. As for the cgi, really is extremely hard to actually film a real aeroplane crashing these days without it...not sure why there is hate on using cgi, especially on a techno-centric website forum The thing which really showed originality was the shots used, like the one with the guy on the motorcycle. I either haven't seen that before or haven't seen it in the same context. I have a very strong belief this will not be style over substance, but even if I'm wrong, it looks like the style will be original and fresh. I'm in.
Either way i will watch it! Ihope they dont overdo CGI and keep it grim and dark! Bondarchuk has done some good films in the past
Don't look hipster enough to me. I only watch silent black and white films ironically filmed using ****ty angles and poor quality video with convoluted story's that portray a deep and meaningful message (or at least that's how I will conceive it) 1/10 imdb rating, would rate again.
One does not have to be a hipster to dislike movies with overused CGI, especially when the movies are not sci-fi/fantasy.
