This is not as true anymore. Cowboy Bebop comes to mind. I personally think the English VA for that show are superior to the Japanese. Other shows have great VA's as well its not like back in the day when it was teribad. Now the English dubs are very good on most anime's.
I admit, i watched DBZ in English the first time when it came out, but i was still a teenager so it had Dutch subtitles i think. But that doesn't mean that's the reason i prefer the English voices. But enough of this, we can't judge each other on this matter, it's all personal preference anyway.
I must get around to finish watching Dragon Ball. Only up to the early eps so far (ep 18 or so), though am thinking of holding off till the bluray releases as i think if i remember correctly...ocean dub or another dub team have recently or are due to come to a close on their distribution rights, at which funimation will take on the remaster process. Been trying to find bluray zoids new century, but the only ones currently available are some ridiculously priced (US$1000+) box set that comes with a model of liger or....the blue one (Schnider?) and only available from Japan. Also, Shinzo and Flint the time detective. I remember those from being a kid, cant recall them all that well. Might hit up youtube later.
Lol i found the Dutch opening video of DBZ, it's different from English version and it's kinda bad haha. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHVqt6r1moI Fun fact: They actually pulled it from Cartoon Network later on cause it was to violent and sexual. :bang:
Thats not the dutch opening, its the Ocean Dub intro called Rock the Dragon. Nothing wrong with it. I prefer it to the cartoon network opening, but imo the Funimation opening (and the entire dub in general) is by far the best. Ocean Dub Wiki Funimation Dub wiki Funimation Vs Ocean Dub Cells Death. Funimation's is first and Ocean Dub is at 1:46. Funimation pisses all over Ocean Dub. Cartoon Network intro.
That's weird, i do remember that video and song when i watched it when i was like 10-12. It could have been a other network, but i'm pretty sure it was Cartoon Network. Btw, does anyone know from wich anime this picture is? EDIT: Oh and second episode of Dragon Ball Super is out, just trying to find 1080p version.
Whats your opinion on DBZ Super going by the first episode? Ive not seen it myself. After having just finished watching the entire DBZ, its going to need to be onpar or exceed it.
That's Yoko from Gurren Lagann, perhaps one of the most awesome mecha animes ever made. If you love Gainax and Kill la Kill, you will surely love Gurren Lagann. Rewatching DBZ myself as well, currently at the end of the Freeza saga (around ep 96 where Goku turned SSJ. Most epic moment ever!). I started with the original DB. As for DBS, too bad Gohan is still a retard. He became such a loser after the Cell saga. Even Goten never grows up. Same goes for Trunks. Everyone else gets older except for those 2. Watched ep 2, gotta love the good old cranky Vegeta. Awesome episode.
It looks really good indeed, very high AniDB rating also. I've seen alot of Yoko cosplay, very sexy outfit. I'm usually not that into Mecha genre, i've only watched one that i loved alot, can't remember the name sadly, i think it's going to be remade as well.
That one is seriously awesome series. GATE, Ushio no Tora, OverLord, God Eater and Rokka no Yuusha are the ones I enjoy most out of the newest series.
So what happened to DB Super ep 4 today? Has anyone seen it or are they having a break already? Judging from the first 3 eps, it feels like they are redoing BoG.
Was wondering the same thing, non of my sources got it. It will probably be out tomorrow i'm sure. EDIT: It's delayed until 2nd August guys.
