Default 3570k and Sabertooth z77 Overclock experience - 06-08-2012, 01:25 | posts: 296

so im too excited about this upgrade last night, and just wanted to share first, lol...

Just posting my OC experience and wondering about other people with this combo.

so far im at 4.8, 1.38v

4.9 was stable at 1.4v, but too hot for my taste
didn't bother finding stable voltage for 5.0

haven't fine tuned yet.

i'll post temps and more details later, im still at work, but wanted to share first

edit:

after a bit more fine tuning:

4.8Ghz
Blck: 100.1
Ratio: 48
Voltage Offset: +0.115
LLC: Extreme
CPU Power Phase Control: Extreme
CPU Power Duty Control: Extreme
CPU Power Response Control: Ultra Fast
Mem Voltage: 1.52 (mem spec is 1.5

Speedstep and All C-states are enabled (lol...)

idle: 26 30 29 29
IBT avg load: 65~70's will log more data later
prime load: To Be Tested

will probably turn c-states off, iono.

Nice temps you get with the watercooling!
I have just aswell recently gotten my 3570k and just casually OC:ed mine. Im getting 70c on the cores on 1.3V under stress with a modified TRUE.
Im interested in the power controll settings you have picked, did you set that in BIOS or in AI suite?
What power settings should I have for say 4,6?

4.0 should be an easy overclock with little to no additional voltage, so temperature would only be a few degrees higher than stock.

overclock away!

i think anywhere from stock to 4.5 (maybe even 4.6) you can leave the power settings alone, and adjust just ratio, voltage, and LLC

and i adjust all those in BIOS.

and im not sure what your cpu is currently clocked at, but you should be able to stay well under 1.3v (reading from cpuz under load) to shave off a few degrees, this should be good for upto 4.5~4.6 depending on your cpu.
although 70c is pretty good on the overclocked ivy! especially on air.

so back to my system, i ended up upping the voltage offset to +0.120
because of a crash while i was playing TERA online.

as a side note, i had to trim my rasa cpu block's backplate to fit this motherboard, as the backplate i had was the original revision, and literally hits the solder pins and diodes on the back of the board. but nothing a dramel can't fix.
